Shoutout to Uncle Tom for teaching us Rome’s best-kept secret isn’t a crumbling ruin. It’s Dagildo. Nestled on a cobbled side street, away from the noise of tourist traps and overpriced wine, this place feels like someone whispered it into your ear in a taxi ride through Trastevere.
Let’s talk pasta. I went in on the pesto and garlic tomato, each bite with a tomato was a love letter to the Italian countryside. And the pesto? That green gold could convert the most stubborn pesto skeptic.
Around me, people casually twirled spaghetti and bit into steaming slices of pizza, thin and crispy, and unapologetically perfect. Will definitely return upon on...

The gratin anchovies were tasty enough, but came without any sauce or moisture. The roast lamb and artichokes was inedible. The meal was presented as grey sludge, with the meat mostly bone and gristle. The French fries came as potato crisps despite several discussions with the waiter. The prosecco was adequate, but the house red and white wines were below par. If you enjoy great local food and wine, you are best to avoid...
