This place saved our lives! My wife and I were traveling through Europe with Rome as our first stop when her glasses broke. Unfortunately she did not have a spare pair and needs them to see. We stopped by Occhio Al Vicolo and Stefano seriously saved our trip. He first searched his whole store for frames that would match my wife's lenses. Then when he wasn't satisfied, he encouraged us to search for frames that were stylish yet affordable, and when my wife found ones she liked he immediately placed an order and told us to come back tomorrow (right before we left for another city). Low and behold, we came to the shop tomorrow and the frames/new lenses were ready. All worked out and to boot, Stefano was helping another pair of travelers fix their glasses at no cost. amazing! This little shop is like the Trevi fountain: at first you don’t know if you’ll be able to find it, then suddenly you come up on it!It’s in Trastevere, in one of those narrow winding streets. The service and the products are excellent. I was helped in every way: given an exam and told things with that I had never known about using contact lenses. Here it is mid August and most shops are closed. But he was able to get me a beautiful pair of Fendi prescription glasses and contact lenses to try out before ordering several packets, in only a week, which is amazing for Roma!
