I've been there twice. For my first experience I would have given them a 5 star rating, food was delicious and service was pretty good. Our second visit I would score a 3. Of the 5 dishes we ordered 3 were delicious. The vitello tonnato was refined with lovely rare vitello and interspersed with little piped mounds of smooth tuna cream. The tortello with porcini was rich in umami flavour and enveloped in velvety sauce, finally the vitella fillet was perfectly cooked and tender with a riotous crumb crust and paired perfectly with the foie gras puree. Unfortunately the grilled octopus starter was a little tough and the melanzane risotto was underseasoned but lacked any depth of flavour. I know it was meant to be a delicate dish, but I failed to pick up all the notes. Regarding the service, i found it quite imposing on our meal which isn't the best way to spend your time on a meal out. At first everything was fine but went downhill as we asked for the red wine to be chilled a bit further. Being a wine shop I would expect this to be done with grace, but instead it was met with frustration. I normally don't bother in Italy, but when you are buying nicer wine it's nice to get it at the right temperature especially on an already hot day. The wine was taken away and we then believe that it was forgotten about in the freezer. When it did finally arrive back there was frost/condensation on the rim of the bottle which I assume meant it was put in the freezer without a tap on. The wine was now way overcooled and we spent the rest of the meal warming up our wine with our hands. There was no apology or recognition of the error. The rest of the meal continued with indifference towards us by our main server, but I think their other staffed realised that things weren't going smoothly so did offer us some free aperitifs at the end of the meal. I still think this a lovely restaurant and this might have been a blip on their record, but unfortunately it dominated the mood...
Read moreWent in for a dinner, the Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe and Rigatoni Alla Gricia were almost inedible - we like our food well salted but this was too much even for us. The pork on the Rigatoni was also much overcooked and hard to chew.
The tiramisu seemed to have been made right before serving and hadn't had time to set in; the savoiardi were still dry. Espresso was also the worst we...
Read moreDead atmosphere. Arrogant service. They did not inform us of things they lacked on the menu. Then they said they could only make us main courses, not even pasta. And then they hit us with a 90 euro bill. I had to leave my partner drinking her very average aperol spritz to go to a pizzeria rou d the corner. Truly the worst gastronomic experience I have...
