What a complete joke. How does this place get 4.6 stars???????
My only guess is the property has changed hands in the last few years and they are chasing the almighty dollar instead of an actual proper experience for the customer. I have dined all over the place, and in plenty of places in Italy and I can tell you I would never dream of going to a place like this if it hadn't been rated so well. What happened here??
I can pick on anything from small to big. I don't even know where to start.... Maybe start small?
First, the interior of the restaurant is sterile, uninviting and uninspiring. It was renovated to be cheap, not to be nice and the piercing white blue lights scream amateur.... The atmosphere is completely non-existent and has nothing to do with Italian or Rome whatsoever.
Second, the table settings leave a lot to be desired. From fake tablecloth, to napkins that don't cover anything, there's no style and no taste and no quality.
Third that goes to the food. It literally seemed like everything came out of a box or a can and I don't even know how to explain it. The pizza crust was below average, in the birthplace of pizza you can certainly do no worse than here. There is absolutely no way that was fresh, hand tossed and delivered to the table. Same with the cheese on the Margarita pizza. It was shredded mozzarella!! Who does that?? Yesterday I had the greatest pizza of my life in Napoli. It was an absolute 10 out of 10, the pizza here was a 5 at best . The veal meatballs and tomato sauce were bland, uninspiring and had ripped romaine lettuce as presentation.?! The fettuccine alfredo was beyond disappointing because my restauranteur friend in America who is from Italy makes her Alfredo a thousand times better. Heck I make better Alfredo at home on a bad day. The Parmesan cheese was not fresh, it was clearly repurposed. In fact, they brought parmesan cheese garnish to the table pre-grated in a cup which clearly goes table to table to table and isn't fresh . This was just terrible. To say nothing of the carbonara or the zuppa. The food gets a 4 out of 10 overall considering the rating, the location and expectation.
Then there's the wine, the waiter upsold me on this bottle I never heard of and I couldn't research and it was terrible.
I would never recommend this place. I would never go back and how on Earth does it ever have 4.6 stars?? See my photos. I'm not making this up....

Read moreNo taste. And a discriminatory welcome. Tourist couple looking for a romantic moment, run away! The restaurant was empty (now I know the reason why lol), and my wife and I are refused a table for two from a row of six, which can be arranged in three separated tables, and off-center from the pedestrian crossing passageway (it was a terrace). The waiter pretexted that it's a row exclusively for six people (a lie). We are therefore seated right in the middle of the passageway, even though we wanted to be off-center as a couple, for romantic time, in a free table, and above all, in an empty restaurant. The server clearly stated that we couldn't because it was for 6 people and not because it was reserved. We sat down at the required table and just 15 min after another couple (visibly not foreigners, lol) asked for the table I had requested and were seated. They where two! Like us lol. I was hangry but I contained myself so as not to spoil this romantic moment. Our table was still empty from our order. And another similar table was available in another row of 6 (I repeat the restaurant was empty!). So I called the waiter and asked him nicely to seat me there. He replied curtly with a dark look that the whole row was reserved! Of course, we already had reserved our meal... So no U-Turn possible and leaving the restaurant without breaking romantism lol. When we left the restaurant, the second row of 6, supposedly reserved for 6, remained free. The local couple, who came well after us, at the seat we were refused, were served well before us. They ruined my romantic meal. To top it all off, it wasn't even there, and I spent my evening in the toilet. My advice for tourists: run away! Many similar restaurant in the same street. Don’t take the risk to be humiliated for this such bad...
