Ristorante Elettra — Restaurant in Rome

The food was really good — I had the squid ink pasta and seafood risotto, and both were delicious. The risotto had a bit of a kick, which actually made it even more flavorful. The atmosphere was lovely, and most of the staff were friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, one waitress with curly hair really affected our experience. She was cold and dismissive toward me and my mom the entire evening. No smile, no thank you, barely said a word to us — just asked “Dessert?” with no effort to be polite or friendly. I saw her being much warmer and more engaged with other tables, which made us feel singled out.

When it came time to pay, she didn’t even move the card machine toward my mom — I had to do it myself — and she still didn’t say anything to us. It honestly made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. I can’t help but wonder if we were treated differently because we’re Asian. That thought just made me even more upset.

It’s a shame because the food and the rest of the experience were great, but this really left a bad taste in our mouths and kind of...

I do not recommend for anyone, but especially for any English speakers. Everyone around us who spoke English left talking about how bad the service was. I also saw two different tables tell their server to please take off something THEY DID NOT ORDER. If i could do negative stars for service I would. Our waiter obviously did not like us, for no obvious reason. The way he interacted was borderline unacceptably rude. But beyond that, our pizza came out uncut and when we asked that it be cut, they cut it extremely badly (one slice was two inches long and another was a rhombus) , we asked for more water, he took the bottle and did not come back with more until we asked again, he corrected my sister pronouncian of a dish very aggressive and loudly, ect ect ect. Food was not very good. I order mushroom risotto and it was okay. My daughter ordered the Marguerita pizza and it was okay. My sister ordered gnocci and it was okay. The grilled veggies were good and the french fries were honestly great. Bellinis...

I visited this restaurant alone in 2014. An old waiter was in charge of me. I was badly dealt with.

1. There were many Asian people at the restaurant. However, all of them were sat down inside of the restaurant though there were some vacant seats at terrace. Outside is for Western customers only? It's discrimination.
2. Although I ordered "Spaghetti alla carbonara", the old waiter served me something octopus pasta. I don't like octopus so there was no reason to order it. When I ordered it, I said it by my mouth and at the same time I pointed my forefinger at the menu. How did he make a mistake?
3. I said to him about the mistake but he didn't admit he was wrong. "You ordered it!" he said like this emphatically. I got mad and made a complaint about discrimination and my order. He ignored me so I asked other waiter. He said apologetically "I can say only sorry..."

Finally I didn't eat it and I put my payment on the table and left there. (Maybe I didn't need to pay...) Never visit like this...
