Rotolo — Restaurant in Rome

I’m writing this sooo late, about a couple of months late, but that’s how you know the food and experience was awesome for the price point and location 💛 if you are coming off from a tour from or near the Vatican COME HERE. Other places in the surrounding area are so overpriced preying on the tours (and the food doesn’t even seem that good based on reviews from these overpriced locations) and so the 5-10min walk to this location is WORTH IT. Not only is everything very affordable, the flatbread that holds almost every snack and dish is beyond good. I ate so many other foods in Italy for the first time the whole past week so on the 4th day of Italy trip I was surprised something so simple was one of my favorite foods I had tried on the whole trip. Wrote this review now because I wish there was a Rotolo here where I live cause I’m craving it. Frederico was so kind and accommodating, and just a cheerful precense that made me want to buy and try more. Plus, the shop was very well designed for such a small space, felt clean and modern :) if I ever go back to Italy in this area, I WILL be stopping by again. we walked by and somehow we got interested into and tried it

size (5*) - absolutely fine for min 1 person mostly 2 person. so therefore the price is fitting absolutely.

freshness (5*) - well we can see behind the curtains but what we saw and tasted was fresh.

tastiness (5*) - awesome! that made us come 3 times in a row ;-).

sitting (3*) - inside there is a small side-wall table. fine. outside we did like it as well but its on a smaller sidewalk on a heavy crowded street. in other words loud. during high season rome gets overcrowded with tourists, so we wouldnt sit there. we were a bit out on the low season but still heavy car traffic.

result: absolutely a recommendation. food is awesoom.

I found this place thanks to Instagram and I am so happy for that. The only regret I have is that I found it so late.

I ordered Piadine (flat bread) with prosciutto crudo and grilled mozzarella. It was amazing, sweet, salty and savoury at the same time. As a cheese lover I highly approve the grilled mozzarella, it tastes like smoked cheese. Heaven 💛 Oh, I forgot to mention that flat bread is made fresh for each order!
