[09/04, 19:42] Derek: Well now. The Méxican restaurant is weird here too. They don't serve chips and salsa. When I asked he showed me an 11€ appetizer with 3 salsas. I just said chips and one salsa. He brings still 3 salsas. I stopped him from walking away and gave him both the salsas.. Chunks of jalapeño and super spicy sauce. Then I ordered on the menu what they call a "huge chimichanga" but its tiny. He said they use a half size tortilla for that but still charging 14€. F this place. And the Coke is half the size bottle of the other restaurants 100ml. I ask for coke and water. He forgets both.

Is this place even a restaurant? I'm alone I didn't need this treatment.

The owner ended up private messaging me on TripAdvisor and preceded to insult me and my review of them. He ended up blocking me after insultjng me and this is what I was going to write in response:

I traveled to so many Latin countries where I never was charged for chips. I expected way better for that price and location. I've had better food from a food truck in Mexico for $5. The own not only assumed I was ignorant but also ignored my...

My wife and I visited this restaurant by accident we were actually meant to go to the Mexican burrito bar next door…we couldn’t find an entry so we thought this was a place but it was wasn’t…much to our surprise and delight!

The place was booked out this Sunday evening and they were still very accommodating and found a table for two near the entry which was in a high traffic area, which they warned us about but we were so hungry we didn’t care.

After tasting some of the food we didn’t care about the busyness of this restaurant we were just so happy to taste something different after being in Italy for a month and getting ripped off.

Even though the staff were really busy they were extremely hospitable and making sure that we were happy with our food selections. My wife and I are so excited to come back here again and try more of the authentic Mexican food and some cheeky desert.

My tip would be to definitely make a booking, we got so lucky this evening. Also the staff speak Italian and Spanish and some staff speak English. The customer service was one of the best we’ve...

They make a sad face when you get in, like you are interrupting them from Talking to their Co workers. They are rude at first and alwys say they don’t have a table. The food is good- it’s ok- but not worth ed the customer service. I went there 2 times to really make sure that they were not just having a “bad day”. Today was the 3 time and they were rushing me out of my table, didn’t even asked if I wanted a coffee or a tequila- which I didn’t get the chance to order. Waitress brought the check before I asked. I was relaxing and enjoying my Margherita and wanted to order a shot Whitchurch I didn’t have the chance.

Totally skipp if you can. The food is decent but not worth their faces like they are completely dissatisfied with their job. It has happen more then once.

I usually Dont do this but they really need to treat people whom are paying them better. I just absolutely hate when someone brings me the check...

I am not kidding when I say this is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. When I first came to La Cucaracha I though, "Wow, am I really getting Mexican food in Italy?"..but am I glad I did. I expected it to be adequate to mediocre, but it was divine. After reading the chef's bio on the menu, it all made sense. Diana's food is to die for. Living in the D.C. metropolitan area, I must say there are many to choose from but few if any Mexican restaurants in our area which compare with the quality of the food at La Cucaracha. Best to get a reservation if you want guaranteed seating and don't expect free chips and salsa, that's not the norm there.
