We arrived at rome late evening and wanted to have a quick meal as we were exhausted. The fact that the restaurant was empty should have been a sign for us not to go in but we gave it the benefit of doubt, a decision we regretted instantly. First of all the owner was sat behind us so it was difficult to have a conversation. When we ordered food for the starter we ordered the lavash bread and hummus. The lavash bread was a tortilla wrap that had been warmed up. The hummus was lumpy and tasteless. For the main course we ordered a mix grill and one of the curries. The mixed grill was foul - the chicken was rubbery and had an odd smell/taste and the kebab was just pitiful - extremely dry. The curry was tasteless and the rice appeared as though it had been cooked a few days ago. If i could i would rate this restaurant with 0 stars i would. I wouldnt recommend anyone enter this establishment as it is a waste of time and money. We wasted over €40 on substandard food! A shocking start to our first...

The kabab - meat was little too salty also the rice was hard to digest due having nothing else except the meat we ordered saffron rice they just bring white rice 😭also why is there no ice it’s a restaurant? The hummus was actually good even tho it wasn’t fresh but it was far better then what I’ve ate in this restaurants but the bread I think they could do better bread to eat with the hummus also the dolma - grape leave WAS NOT a fresh dolma but store bought? 😭like what? I could bought from store if I needed but hey well for experience I guess.

Read moreWe had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Taberna! The staff's hospitality was exceptional, making us feel like honored guests.
The menu was a treasure trove of Persian culinary delights, and each dish exceeded our expectations. The kebabs were tender and bursting with flavor, and the saffron-infused rice was a heavenly companion to every dish. The traditional stews were rich and hearty, showcasing the chef's mastery of Persian flavors.
What truly stood out was the attention to detail in every dish, from the artful presentation to the use of high-quality ingredients.
To top it off, the dessert selection was a sweet revelation and the aromatic Persian tea was the perfect ending to our meal.
I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It's a culinary journey to Iran right in the...
