Our original plan was to go to Neighborhood but they are closed on Monday. We heard from a Pinay lady that this place was good so we went.
We walked downstairs and the vibe was good. Half full resto. We were seated. Ordered: Sinigang, torta talong and Sisig. The lady that took our order was nice and polite. The other two servers were attentive as well.
The wait was longer than expected. The sinigang came out first. It comes with rice and a drink as a combo. We Noticed they used neck bone which is the cheap version. We would have preferred ribs or the traditional chunks of baboy/pork. The dish was not hot as we would have preferred. The taste was good. The downside is we kept having to spit out bits of bone. Also, the rice came with hard or burnt rice; like the one you get from the bottom of your rice cooker. Zucchini in sinigang??? 6/10
The sizzling sisig came out as a rice plate also. So half order, not full but good enough for 2. It was good but lacked onions like the traditional sisig. Also no soy sauce. Lemon was provided. Rice was from the bottom of cooker also. 6.5/10
The tortang talong was probably the best thing. Good serving size. Lacked sauce. 9/10
We ordered 2 iced teas and they forgot so 1/10.
We had an ok experience for brunch so we decided to return for dinnerā¦
Ordered: gambas, miki bihon and lomi. Different servers. Gambas came out first. Rice was better; not from bottom of cooker this time. Sauce was good. We did notice itās a smaller serving and the shrimps are smaller than what we are used to from other restaurants. The tofu is quite small as well. 6/10
We waited more than 30 minutes for the rest of the order. We had to flag our waiter to ask why itās taking long. His answer was something wrong in the kitchen. š¤ The family that was seated after us were served first, ate and left before we got our food. šš¼
The pancit came out cold like it was sitting for a while. 1/10
The lomi was hot and tasty but the noodles were a bit hard still. 8/10
We had high hopes for this place but itās rather disappointing. Filipinos need to be reminded that you are in Europe and not in Pinas. This kind of service makes good Filipinos look bad. Maybe they should think about that before treating customers and other Filipino tourists poorly.
Will not return and would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery very poor service! We booked for 7.45 pm. Arrived there at 7.40. Despite having a reservation, they had us waiting till 8.10. Had to wait for another 10 mins before a waiter took our order (after several attempt of calling their attention). Placed our order at 8.20. Lomi for me, tokwat baboy and palabok for my sister and lumpiang sariwa for my mom. Tokwat baboy came in first (after about 15 mins). The baboy was good, crispy. Then another about 7 mins for the lomi and palabok. Lomi was good enough. Palabok was veeery greasy. Around 8.55pm one of the waiter came and said "wala na po lumpiang sariwa ate". After waiting for more than an hour to have a lumpiang sariwa and after 30 mins since we placed our order only then would they notify us that they didn't have lumpiang sariwa?! Me and my sister were almost done with our meals and mom hadn't eaten anything yet! Oh, and no "pasensya napo ubos na po pala ang lumpia" or perhaps they could have offered us something else (given the amount of time that we waited for). But no. No sorry, no nothing. To my mom's disappointment she decided to just order a halo halo, which they brought after 15 mins, and again without apologizing.."ate natunaw napo yung ice cream ano" it's as if nothing happened! The cherry on top?...it was a very hot summer day in July and they brought us warm water. Because they didn't have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHands down one of the best places to eat. We were walking at afternoon and we saw a lot of Filipinos gathered at this place and eating, so we understood it's a local place they trust. And we were so lucky to find a place to sit. Food was amazing, prices were honest, waiters were very polite and also kept all COVID-19 measures as it should be. Places like these are the reason I am writing a guide, so more people will explore it and have a taste of real...
