Torcè — Restaurant in Rome

This is a tiny ice cream parlour (compared to the ones in the city centre) on the side of a wide boulevard with hardly any tourists walking here. However it is rightly famous for its original flavours. Service was average with staff who are not the most friendly. Gorgonzola flavour is worth trying because it is incredibly similar to the taste of the actual cheese, but I found it too strong to eat more than a couple of spoonfuls. On the other hand, the best flavour there is Celery - this was deliciously refreshing and imaginative. Rice flavour was also mildly interesting and had actual rice grains in it. I came here because I found out that I can find very particular flavors in this place. That’s 100% truth, the flavors are really original and particular. I took 3 scoops: Cacio e pepe (cheese with pepper) Celeri And black sesame The ice cream was really good, I’d like to come other flavors as well. Why did I take 1* off ? - I asked to try 1 flavor because I wasn’t sure I want it, it seemed a bit ordinary for me. But I’ve been told that it’s not possible to try anything. Without any explanation. Just “no, non possibile” In opinion it’s a bit weird, especially considering the fact that the flavors are really particular. And even if they would be ordinary, I think it’s normal to understand if you like the taste...

Risposta alla recensione del profilo “Chamot”. Signora credo che lei non abbia colto correttamente la situazione... Mi dispiace leggere una risposta così accesa e accusatoria nei nostri confronti. Nessuna “parolaccia” è mai stata pronunciata verso le ragazze del personale, né tantomeno abbiamo avuto l’intenzione di attaccare qualcuno personalmente. Il commento che è stato fatto all’esterno del locale era rivolto a un cliente che, per la fretta di entrare, è andato contro il signor Chamot... e le parole che sono state usate sono: “neanche permesso si chiede”… Forse, come abbiamo potuto notare leggendo altre recensioni simili alla nostra, è più semplice accusare i clienti di “inventare”, piuttosto che riflettere su un problema che, a quanto pare, è già stato segnalato più volte. Trovo sia un peccato dover giustificare un disagio vissuto in prima persona e ancor più spiacevole che lo si metta in dubbio con tanta leggerezza. Mi sorprende il tono con cui ha scelto di rispondere a una recensione che, pur negativa, era espressa in modo civile e basata su un’impressione vissuta da noi in quel momento. Se la vostra consuetudine è chiedere più volte se i clienti sono pronti, è legittimo, ma ciò non toglie che possa risultare inopportuno o poco accogliente a chi si sente sotto pressione. Non siamo né maleducati né aggressivi, semplicemente clienti che hanno raccontato la propria esperienza. Spiace constatare che la sua reazione sia stata così dura, soprattutto nei confronti di chi ha solo espresso un’opinione.
