Hummustown Bistrot — Restaurant in Rome

We were the first to arrive and then a lot more people came after. Cozy outdoor seating on the sidewalk. Our server didn’t mention what the numbers on the menu meant and just by reading the ingredients for the falafel wrap I thought it would be vegan, knowing my experience with non-vegan spots I only asked when the item was in front of me because it was a full on burrito style wrap, and not a traditional open top pita. He sadly mentioned that their tahini has cream in it and then explained the allergen list which I found so useful going into the rest of our Italy trip, so I switched for a salad and side of falafel which was sufficient for a lunch. Nice staff and really good hummus…it’s in the name lol, it has to be good!

I also really liked the sambusik and the pizza arabo (con formaggio) which was basically lavash with cheese and sesame seeds.

The falafel was fine and the wrap was good too so if you’re looking for middle eastern food, give this place a try. It’s close to FAO and I see you can get delivery on Glovo and Deliveroo. There were also a few tables inside so you could eat there too.

je suis tellement deçu j’aurais preferé passer mon dejeuner a Rome ailleurs… je suis amoureuse de la cuisine syrienne et pour mon seul jour a Rome j’ai decidé de manger dans cette adresse « pas très connu » en faisant confiance au peu d’avis malheureusement je n’ai pas retrouvé les saveurs de la cuisine syrienne dont jetais tombé amoureuse… les falafels étaient sec et vraiment fade, le riz très sec comme si il datait de la veille…. les plats sont rechauffé au micro onde 12€ sans grande saveur et surtout froid… le houmous n’était pas à mon goût je n’ai pas l’impression que c’est fait maison il était bcp trop liquide et fade… l’equipe n’as meme pas ete acceuillante mise a part « ciao » aucune formule de politesse… pas un sourire …. j’espere que l’equipe du jeune homme et des deux jeunes filles n’est pas l’équipe de base car il y a du travail à faire sur l’hospitalité…. je suis resté poli avec tous les termes et formules de politesse prononcé en italien je leur ai même dit bonne journée mais je n’ai pas eu le droit à un merci à un sourire ou à un simple «  toi aussi » du jamais vu pour moi qui a l’habitude de tester multiples restaurants c’est décevant et tristement ça me laisse un mauvais souvenir de mon...
