An amazing experience that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in the area!

Not being the most fluent in Italian we were a bit bewildered by how the restaurant actually worked. When you are seated you are you are presented with a jug and from that you go and fill your jug up from a wall they have at the side (this is all included in your service charge of €3). This meant on the two occasions we visited we did leave feeling quite merry.

The food was absolutely exceptional! You pick between a meat and a fish starter and you get 5 beautiful little small plates. Both meat and fish were excellent so would recommend trying both.

You then move onto the pasta course, on the first night there was a bit of a wait between courses which turned out to be a benefit, as the starters coupled with the wine really fill you up. I tried two of the pasta courses, first of which was the octopus ragu which whilst wasn’t the star of the show was very tasty. However, the real gem was the Nerano a delicious pasta with pecorino and courgette (zucchini) this was an absolute explosion of flavour and was truly one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. The salty perfectly cooked pasta was incredible and when I tried a bit of my partners I knew I had to come back and order the same thing.

You get the second (meat/fish) course of which I opted for the cuttlefish and prawns, these were so delicious and the smoky flavour of the fish was really the stuff of dreams.

Finally you get the desert of which we had the tiramisu, whilst this was by no means the standout dish it was a pleasant way to end the meal and wrapped it up perfectly.

Overall we spent €45 the first night on one starter to share, two pasta dishes and a dessert. Then €70 the next night for two starters, two pastas, and a second course. All of this comes with your wine included. Honestly could not recommend this place enough and was our favourite restaurant we visited...

We turned up around 6pm. After being kept waiting for a few minutes we were told that they didn’t open until 7. We said we’d come back after 7. We got back around 7:45 and the head waiter kind of had a go because he thought we said we’d be back at 7. Despite being made unwelcome from the start we thought we’d stay as it was recommended by the owner of the hotel we were staying at. All the time we were ordering he kept mentioning that we were late. We ordered starters & mains. And wine. Wine was ok for the price but came in a “funky” plastic ice bag. Starter came and went. After a short, not annoying wait, my girlfriend’s main course arrived. There was no sign of mine. I told her to start hers before it got cold. I was prepared to wait it out and see if my main course ever turned up but my GF asked a passing waiter where mine was. They apologised a bit and it arrived a few minutes later. She had almost finished hers by then. I ate most of mine. The food was actually ok but I was unimpressed by the service and the hospitality but as I’ve said, it was recommended. When the bill came, they clearly knew we were less than impressed as they’d knocked €4 off a €51 total. Woo. We found better places to eat earlier...

English will follow.

We are two loons that went to the wrong restaurant and ended up in this cute little place which apparently is a seafood restaurant - and we dont like seafood... We apologized for our mistake and felt that maybe we are taking up a perfectly good table ... but the welcoming that we received made us feel very special. The waitress was the sweetest making sure that we would enjoy our meal anyway, the head chef came out and offered us an alternative menu. We had some pasta which was absolutely amazing. And the desserts - wow! But most importantly, they deserve a full 5 stars for their service and welcoming. A big thank you for making us feel so welcome (after feeling...

We stumbled upon La Botte Pazza on our first night in town and it turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip. We arrived a bit late but were seated in the upper loft area, which felt almost like a private skybox overlooking the restaurant below—such a unique and cozy vibe. Our waiter was wonderfully caring and attentive. One of the things I loved most was that the menu changes daily depending on what’s fresh and available, which makes every visit feel special. On top of that, they went out of their way to accommodate a vegetarian in our group, bringing out multiple dishes crafted just for her. It didn’t feel like a burden to them at all—in fact, it felt like they took pride in creating something unique. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming, and the service outstanding. I left feeling cared for rather than like “just another customer,” which is rare these days. Highly recommend—10/10—and I’ll absolutely return on my next trip to Italy.

My husband and I had the best experience at La Botte Pazza. It was obviously a very popular restaurant because I think we got the last non-reserved table. We arrived early which worked well. The moment we arrived the staff was extremely welcoming and were able to explain the delicious seasonal menu in English. They have (free) self served wine taps - super fun concept that plays into their tradition of soaking fresh peach in the pitcher (and eat after dinner). First up was super fresh tomato bruschetta and fried stuffed balls of deliciousness (not sure what they were and not pictured but amazing) We ordered tomatoes Italian bacon pasta and this incredible zucchini cheese pasta - all homemade and hand rolled. The zucchini pasta could possibly be the BEST pasta dish we’ve have in Italy. After we shared a nice steak - perfectly seasoned. If your in Salerno - definitely a must!!!
