At first everything seemed to be okay, unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way! We ordered food, it came quickly and would say it was normal - nothing too special about it but wasn’t bad either. Then the bill came with some kind of added position which supposed to be for service - 4 extra euros! Leaving tip to a waiter is not horrifying but just let me tell you - firstly waiter did not bring us menu, we needed to scan qr code, secondly we ordered Coca Cola and the waiter brought us bottles but did not open them neither he poured the drink in glass! Thirdly we didn’t eat any bread (we even told them that we don’t need that so they took it away) and we didn’t have any spices or olive oil on our table as well, no table linen only two plastic or some other similar material dish pads. Basically the waiter only brought us cluttering, glasses and dish - no extra work, not even effort to pour a drink. Least to mention that nowhere in the menu or in restaurant there was written something about extra charge! Naturally when the bill came and we saw that position for extra 4€ we asked what it’s about and the waiter said it’s for service (which in a normal world is included in the meal price) - and we said that there was no service (bringing food doesn’t cost 4€ in our opinion) so the waiter got really mad and angry, he got very rude and aggressive. Then some lady that worked there came to us to deal with this situation (she was very nice and kind, nothing rude about her) - so we asked again this time to her, what that extra position is about and she replied that it’s for fork and knife (obviously that is just ridiculous). So we argued back and forward and at the end they did not charge us. But all in all it was a very unpleasant experience - the prices for dishes are high and the service was as little as it could get, also waiter yelling at us is completely inappropriate and unacceptable! Thankfully the lady kept it cool and tried to solve this situation in a more peaceful way! We understand that each country unwritten laws can differentiate but this was our 5th day in Italy and until now we didn’t need to pay anything extra, also it would be only normal to inform people about extra charges before the meal taking in consideration that they were fully aware that other countries doesn’t include anything extra in the bill and doesn’t charge anyone for...
Read moreJust not worth the money. Maybe we were just foolish thinking that we would get good food at a main square restaurant. Well the menu sounded good, but the food we got was not worth the price we paid.
We had two main dishes (secondi), and they were okay, but nothing more than that. As a side dish we both ordered grilled vegatables, and what we got was just bad. We saw them picking out the vegatables from boxes of pre-grilled vegatables, and so we just got cold and over grilled vegatables. It might be that it is the way to serve vegatables in Italy, but I hope and think not.
Compared to what we have paid for much better food in Napoli and Rome, this was just a big disappointment.
One last note, the staff were nice and friendly. Nothing to complain...
Read moreWaiter completely missed a dish for my partner and when i asked where it was he seemed clueless and started preparing it eventually, which took around 10 minutes by which time my own food had gone cold.
I asked for a discount on the meal, not only because the waiter was incredibly rude from the start but for the late food which our waiter denied. Our waiter then threatened to call the police for us “not paying”…we had no intention of this and it made the whole situation far more unpleasant than it had to be.
Thankfully the lady at the restaurant calmed our waiter down and we got our discount. I think as long as this man is working here you...
