Disgusting people with the most dog whistle racist policies I have ever experienced in Italy for the most mediocre piece of gelato I’ve had since we arrived. Don’t waste your hard earned travel money for people who don’t respect people who are bringing them business. You would think folks that travel around the world and happen upon your shop you’d be grateful. But it’s clear their entitlement and disgust for people if color is evident in how I was treated when I paid to sit down and my guests were continuously berated even though they were not sitting in seats. Read moreWow! We stumbled upon this shop in San Gimignano that turned out to be a delightful surprise. So many good places here have long queues, but this one we found by chance - and it really was amazing. The gentleman serving us, possibly the owner, had limited English but so much charm that it was a pleasure to speak with him.
He recommended pairing our sandwiches with a glass of local Vernaccia di San Gimignano white wine. It was so good that since then we’ve been ordering it on our trip around Tuscany.
