Caffé del Borgo — Restaurant in Santa Margherita Ligure

Came back to lovely Santa Margherita after last year. Didn't try this Caffé/pasticceria yet, so this time we got some of their patisserie.

They got a nice selection, nicely presented. Also a good number of tables. Some outside in the lovely streets of Santa Margherita.

Got some different slices of cakes, a small chocolate tarte, some patisserie and and also two cream puffs. All were solid items. Very good enough. But of the whole load it was the cream puffs that really stood out: Nice, light and a really good whipped cream filling. Came back for some more of these the other day.

There are lots of bakeries and pasticcerias in town. This one here is a very good one. At least the cream puffs...

Very rude staff. We were sitting inside waiting for someone to take our order. When no one came for a while we tried to order at the counter and were sent back to wait for table service. There was no queue at the counter so the only reason for that was probably the table service charge. Fair enough, we went back to our table but no one showed up. We tried to order at the counter again insisting that there seems to be no one who could take our order at the table. The woman just ignored us for a while and when I finally asked to see the manager she turned to me said “bye!” and basically told us to leave. Absolutely shocking and uncalled for. Do not go there. There are plenty of lovely...

This place was awful! The staff were so rude. After waiting ages for a service, we tried to order at the counter and were told to sit down and wait for a waitress. After waiting for another 15 minutes we went to the counter and again tried to order at the bar. The staff were so rude to us I couldn’t believe how they shouted at us and refused to help us even though we were calm and asking so nicely to be served. We landed up going around the corner and found a far nicer place! Avoid this place...
