Whole swarms of tourists head towards Portofino, usually departing from the beautiful San Margherita Ligure. They would do better to stay there. What a beautiful setting and what a delightful village. Or is it a city? In the evening of September 7, we ate on the terrace of Kicks, a pizzeria, but actually much more than that. You could easily call it a top-notch restaurant. Everything we ordered there was truly a revelation. My wife chose the spaghetti al vongole and added a salad, while I opted for the Pizza Cetara. Not only were we served quickly and with friendliness, but both our dishes were a feast for the taste buds. I have never experienced this before, where every ingredient on a pizza is so distinctly tasted that it truly reveals the real flavor of a tomato, an olive, capers, or burratina and pizza dough. Read moreWe went there yesterday and had to wait 20 minutes before a waiter even came to take our order (in the meantime, they were going around asking other customers if their food was good). Every table except ours got a basket of bread – we didn’t. Even people who arrived after us got it, but we still didn’t. The food itself was tasty, but we waited another 30 minutes for it to be served. The coperto is quite expensive – €15 for 5 people. The waiter showed no interest in us at all, didn’t check if everything was okay. We also didn’t get any olive oil for the pizza. The water price is ridiculous too – €3 per bottle. I wish I could recommend this place, but unfortunately – I...
