Portofino Gourmet — Restaurant in Santa Margherita Ligure

Came here to take out some lunch for a picnic in the nearby park by the sea.

This place here you can dine-ine or just like us take-away your food. There is a nice selection of many kinds of food. Be it fish, seafood, meat or vegetarian. Not every option is available daily (or it might sell out), but there's always lots to choose from.

We ordered some chicken cotoletta, zucchini, salmon, meatballs and some mixed seafood. Did cost a bit under 30 Euros for everything.

Quality was very good, the veggies very delicious. So was the seafood (mussels, squid) and the cotoletta. Meatballs were nice and tender, pork possibly, which we enjoyed. The salmon itself was a standard quality, but it was in a vinegar sauce, and that was an unlikely, but actually fantastic combination. Surely something we'll try back at home.

Food-wise and quality-wise there was no issue. A very enjoyable meal. Price-wise it really could be a tad cheaper - compared to other food in town on a similar food-quality level. Almost 30 Euros was a bit on the high end. Besides that a really...

Price-attractive menu, though nothing you cannot find in restaurants nearby. I entered because of the casual, laid back atmosphere, and appealed by some of the dishes I saw. I made my own order, and as soon you get out of the pre-defined menu the price climbs quickly - e.g a medium portion of mushrooms for 8 euros. Service was as expected. I ordered 4 different dishes (served in cardboard plates) and a wine and ended up paying 35 euros, same as a decent dinner in a restaurant. Better to look for...

Il 15 giugno scorso arrivo con 2 amiche alle 19.20 per uno spuntino veloce (non avevamo voglia di una cena vera e propria). Ci fanno accomodare e, alla nostra richiesta del menù, ci rispondono di entrare e vedere cosa è rimasto in rosticceria: pochissimo... Io me ne sarei andata, ma le amiche insistono per restare. Opto per del salmone marinato, che mi è arrivato navigante nell'olio, assolutamente indigesto. La scelta delle verdure limitata a 2: melanzane alla piastra (le avevo mangiate a mezzogiorno) e spinaci lessati (per me invernali). Scelgo allora dell'insalata russa, non tanto buona. Ma la ciliegina sulla torta è stata che, alla nostra reiterata richiesta di pane (le pietanze erano già servite), ci viene detto: "IL PANE LO ABBIAMO FINITO" !!! E ci vengono portati n. 12 grissini di numero per 3 persone! Ho 70 anni, ho girato il mondo, non mi era mai successa una cosa simile. Con un bicchiere di vino bianco ho pagato il tutto 15 euro. Portofino Gourmet... ahahah, lasciate perdere! Un posto per stranieri da spennare. Le cameriere inesistenti e incapaci, ma non è colpa loro: per risparmiare pagandole poco, le gettano allo sbaraglio senza alcun tipo di training. Ah, dimenticavo di dire che ho casa a Santa Margherita, ci vengo dal 1961 e ricordo i tempi fastosi in cui la rosticceria era la migliore della cittadina, con il vecchio...
