From the minute we signed up as a family of 5 we were excited. We talked about booking a cooking class since we decided to travel to Italy this summer. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with wine of our choice and Alberto, our chef introduced himself. He gave us all our own hats and aprons too. Immediately after having a full on photoshoot in our cute uniforms we moved onto the beautiful, clean, organized, and huge kitchen. There we were greeted by another chef and others. I was blown away the entire time by the service, kindness, encouragement, and excitement every minute of our lesson. We got to make our own pasta sauce and learn all the ingredients that make up the tasty sauces. As our sauce cooked, we then were shown how to make Tiramisu from scratch. They even gave all 3 sisters a lesson on how to properly cut veggies. The step by step ways were what really kept us entertained ans engaged. The chef let each of us make a tiramisu perfecting the dessert that we would later enjoy. After that Alberto took us into the main room to make 3 types of pasta. After hand making pasta, you will have a new appreciation for eating it. It is not an easy task to hand roll and fold each one, but so worth it later. It was fun and helpful to learn how to make peachy, gnocchi, and ravioli. Finally after all that hard work in the kitchen, we had the privilege to enjoy it. We sat down to a beautiful dinner were served all our incredible food that we made ourselves! This cooking class exceeded my expectations. Easily the highlight of our family trip. If you are looking for an authentic, affordable, fun, hands on cooking class… you found it. We will miss you and are so grateful for your knowledge, kindness, and skills. Ciao for...
Read moreBest Restaurant We found In Siena This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and we fell in love with it, and it was so good, we returned the next evening for another meal. The restaurant is quaint and inviting, located on a relatively quiet street with tables outside under umbrellas on the cobblestones. The chef is Giuseppe Chiarelli who has impressive credentials. The restsurant also runs a cooking academy adjacent to the restaurant where you can register for cooking classes, so we were expecting a great meal and we were not disappointed. The first night we had Tuscan ham and Pecorino Tuscano followed by a Chianina beef dish. The second night we had pizza - the best pizza we had in 2 weeks traveling in Tuscany and Liguria. We found the prices to be very reasonable
Read moreWe had a terrible experience here. First off, no one wanted to greet us and take our order once we were seated. After we finally ordered, the waitress never came back to our table. We saw her walk by plenty of times, but it was always to other tables helping other customers. After 30 minutes a pizza was brought out. It was not the pizza we ordered, and they finally figured that out and came back and took it away. 30 minutes later, and we still didn’t have our food (1 hour after placing our order). A different waitress came over and said our order wasn’t placed with the kitchen so she needed to take it again. We told her our order, and received our food. The pizza was meh, and the pasta dish was barely warm. None of the waiters or waitresses would stop at our table for me to ask for a different dish or for it to be warmed. After another 10 minutes of being ignored, I went to the front to get our check. The lady didn’t want to help me and said someone would bring it. Still, no one brought the check. I had to go up a second time, upon which I found out they weren’t going to do anything to rectify the situation of a forgotten order, cold food, and terrible service. With so many Italian restaurants around, I’d definitely go somewhere else. This place has mediocre food, and terrible service. It definitely soured our first restaurant...
