Everything was fine till dessert, my husband and I shared a tiramisu and half way through my we both found shards of glass in our mouth. We noticed the edge of the bowl was chipped. We reported and returned the dessert immediately and were lucky not to sustain any injuries. The waiter looked alarmed too. We were not offered a replacement and when we were charged for the dessert and queried this, the chef came out and confronted us. She told us the bowl wasn't chipped when she sent the dish out and since we had eaten most of it we should pay! I did not accuse her of chipping the dish, nor did I admit to smashing it (!) but pointed out it was chipped and the glass had ended up in our food and mouths. When we pointed out the dangers of the dish and also the principle of charging and that we were not after a discount or a free meal just an apology would do, she offered a 3Euro discount as we'd eaten more than half. I informed her I would pay the whole amount and that her handling of the matter on behalf of such a big establishment was poor. We...
Read moreOur first day in Sorrento, we stopped here and once I said that I was vegan and wanted a vegan pasta dish, it only took 10 minutes to have the best penne pasta dish with fresh mushrooms, spinach and eggplant I could have ever imagined. Even my husband who’s not vegan said it was one of the most flavorful pasta dishes he’s ever had! And we’ve traveled throughout Italy many times. This is a three generation family here too! They took so much pride in the freshness and quality of their ingredients and the service was simply superb. So good that we booked the vegan ice cream making course, which was awesome. We learned how to make sorbet and vegan ice cream! The sorbet started with fresh flavorful fruit and the ice cream with fresh toasted hazelnuts. There is absolutely no using sub quality ingredients here! Then my husband had to take the pizza making course! I guess you get the picture. Words can’t describe the quality and love these folks have for...
Read moreWe visited twice on a family holiday.
The first time, we sat inside and had three scoops of ice cream in a bowl.
We all had a different flavour scoop in our bowls. My wife had lemon, strawberry and mint and our daughter also had lemon and two other flavours.
I had the three vegan options of chocolate, light coffee and the other one. The other two were good but the light coffee was easily my favourite.
My wife and i visited on our last day but this time, we had a cone with two scoops of ice cream.
We didn’t think the cones were big enough for two scoops and the scoops were balanced precariously high on top of each other. The ice cream fell of my wife’s cone as she licked it but she miraculously caught it as it fell.
Definitely sit in if you have time, the staff are...
