Having reviewed many restaurants in Sorrento and already had some amazing food we were looking forward to having a great meal here as well, how wrong we were....

Given that this restaurant advertises itself as a Steakhouse you would expect the staff to know about the cuts of steak they are selling and be able to recommend which cut is best if you want your steak cooked a certain way, as one of our family did, that was not the case.

When the waiter was asked which of the two cuts (tomahawk and sirloin) would be best cooked blue, his response was well either, clearly he didn't know which would be better, you could tell by the look on his face.

We waited over 40 minutes for starters, which was a sharing platter so nothing complicated, when it arrived it was ok, the Focaccia was tough, thin and not what was expected but as we had waited for so long we got on and ate it.

Moving on to the main course three had ordered steak and I had ordered meatballs, when the cutlery was brought out I was given a steak knife for my meatballs!!

The three steaks arrived, but no meatballs they turned up about 5 mins later! no apology given and let's be honest a professional restaurant and chef who can't get four main courses out together is really unacceptable.

Whilst I waited for the meatballs I tried a piece of my wife's steak and it was average at best, quite chewy and not a huge flavour, all four came with four sauces no explanation of what they were!! the rest of my family said about the steaks they were nothing special.

My meatballs then arrived....

I cut into the meatballs and took a bite and they were stone cold! I tested all three incase it was just one but they were all the same, again for a professional chef and kitchen to send out cold food is unacceptable, we told the manager and he said sorry they are having some problems in the kitchen!!! This was the first time we were made aware of this, so he took it away and said he would get me another one.

A few minutes later a new plate of meatballs arrived, brought by the barman!!! Who said I've cooked you another one.... I cut into the first meatball and took a bite which was so hot I had to spit it out as it burnt my tongue it was that hot!!!

The meatballs and sauce were ridiculously hot, it had clearly been heated to an extreme temperature in a microwave for it to have been prepared in such a short time and be so hot!!

So I called the manager over and he said what's wrong, I explained that it was to hot which he suddenly couldn't understand or didn't want to!! So I said I wasn't accepting the food and I wasn't going to pay for it, he took it away and said he would remove it from the bill, which he did.

Overall based on this experience I would not recommend going to...

Found this classy looking restaurant tucked up an alley and so glad we did. Friendly welcome and shown to our table. We did ask to be seated in a corner which was lovely and it was our 60th however we were told it was only for 4 people,no problem. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and in no time we felt relaxed. The starters were amazing and huge, cheese balls in sauce, Bruschetta and a garlic pizza, OMG delicious!!! A couple of glasses of house wine, Rose’ and then the mains, Lasagna and a beef pasta dish with some sides, again OMG and Wowser!!! Fabulous large portions of beautiful food. The waiters were on hand for your every need but not pushy at all. Now a bit of disappointment slips in… the table for four we talked about earlier? well a couple came in (Italian)and were guided to a table for two but didn’t want it and gestured to the one we initially asked for and were shown to it, the excess cutlery removed. Now the head waiter and others spoke excellent English so there was no language barrier so I was definitely miffed but I’m on holiday and these things happen. Anyway we had a lovely desert , coffee and drinks while the restaurant filled up and had a great vibe. We asked for the bill which came in good time not too rushed and it was money well spent. Fabulous place to eat, lovely setting and well worth a visit as the food was the best we had while in Sorento. The only spoiler was the table situation, probably regulars but it still soured the experience a little. I’ve not let that affect the star rating as I think this restaurant deserves the rating to encourage people to visit and see how good a restaurant can be in Sorento as there are some really bad ones. All fives on the star ratings but if the owners or managers read this review it’s 8/10 just because everyone should be treated as a friend when they choose to dine at your place. PS when the other couple left, the table quickly returned to a four. If you’re reading this review don’t be discouraged it’s a great place to eat good food in a classy...

I am Coeliac and we had called at the restaurant earlier in the day to check if they could do anything gluten free to be told that I could have roast potatoes with the steak. We went that evening and our meal was spoilt from the first meeting we had with the waiter. We were told that we should order a starter as if we didn’t we would have to wait ages for our main course. We did not want a starter and it was clear the waiter was irritated by the fact we would not order food we did not want. Myself and my partner ordered the steak and I explained that I was gluten free and could I have the roast potatoes as I had been told in the day by the owner/manager they were gluten free but the chips were not. The waiter told me that I had to have the chips as they were gluten free and the roast potatoes were not. I was concerned so my partner checked with the owner/manager to be told the chips were not gluten free and I needed to have the roast potatoes. Such a mix up could have made me very ill. I had ordered my steak medium to well done. The food was out literally in 15 minutes even though we had been told the wait would be long and that is why we should order a starter. When my steak came it was rare in places. I could not eat it. We informed another waiter and my steak was taken away and cooked longer. My roast potatoes were left on the table going cold whilst my partner ended up eating his steak on his own! The waiter came over to see what was wrong for me to be made to feel that I wrong in saying it was not cooked to how I ordered it. We complained at the end to the owner/manager and another lady who took our payment for them to not be interested in the fact the service we received was rude, nonchalant and interested especially when we refused to order a starter. Would...

A big thing for me is customer service and I've mentioned it alot in my recent reviews, especially some young waiters who have been less than helpful & who have been, well let's say grumpy or arrogant. But not so the case at Inn Bufalito, in fact the opposite. From the moment that we arrived to the moment that we left the staff were polite, engaging, helpful & courteous, offering to explain if we were unsure of anything. But they weren't patronising. We started by sharing the plate of buffalo cheeses with light toasted focaccia bread lightly drizzled with olive oil and rosemary. The different mozzarella cheeses, including burrata, smoked mozzarella and mozzarella drizzled with chestnut oil were all lovely. A really good recomendation by the waiter. Our meals were accompanied by a cold glass of dry white wine & a draught beer. Our mains, mine was the rack of 5 ribs in bourbon and my wife had a steak, cooked blue to rare. Both accompanied by some lightly roasted potatoes. The ribs were cooked really well, the succulent pork literally fell off the bone, and the steak, well it was cooked perfectly, sliced and cut so easily a butter knife would have sufficed. The steak was soft, tender and very flavoursome. So a very good meal indeed. Price, not too bag. €90 for the two of us. No glass of limoncello at the conclusion of our meal though. I'd probably say it's in our top 5 of meals since we started our road trip at the end of May. So a really good combination of service, food and surroundings 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

One of our favorite places to eat in Sorrento. A wonderful experience from start to finish. The buffalo meat was exceptional, and the prices were reasonable for the location. The steak experience also looked fantastic. Thank you for having us! Highly recommend.

Quick: tucked away restaurant with delicious foods and good service. Ribs were the highlight of the meal. Reservation recommended Went on a Monday night and it got busy after 20:30. A reservation definitely will help and is easily booked with lots of availability. Despite being tucked away in an alley, it’s a quite popular restaurant which shows its popularity via reputation. Food was fantastic. Sirloin with the many sauces were great. I found the different sauces to be unique and went well with the steak. The steak was cooked nicely to how I like it at medium rare (maybe a little less). My criticism is that it doesn’t have a very deep sear and it was a fattier cut that was slightly chewy in some areas. The highlight of the day was the ribs. Fantastic dish. Beautiful sauce with ribs that fall off the bone. Must get. Both pasta dishes were also great. Gnocci was delicious but there was a lot of extra cheese on the bottom that went fiancée didn’t prefer. We like it when the cheese is incorporated with the sauce better. The lasagna was amazing. Fantastic flavors from it all. The beef was nicely cooked inside. It was one of the best first courses I’ve had in Italy. Lemon cake was also delicious. Very soft with a delicious glaze on top. Service was also good. Our waiter was on top of things for most of the night. He was great and easygoing. Overall, very happy with this restaurant. My favorites were the lasagna and the ribs. I wish I would’ve ordered the rosemary focaccia as it looked amazing.
