While searching for our hotel right around lunch time, we stumbled upon Pizzeria da Franco; with the hopes of asking for directions and grabbing a bite to eat. Turns out our hotel was right across the street (partly obscured from view by a stone wall); and equally as important, we found a great restaurant! For lunch we had the Tagliare (cold cut) antipasto platter for two, and two big salads. The food was delicious, drink selection was nicely-varied, the atmosphere was great--modern and yet cozy at the same time--and the staff was very friendly. They were patient with our broken Italian--and bailed us out with their much-better English. We were pretty exhausted the next evening, and grabbed a pizza for 2 to take back to the room. The pizza was great--not quite the traditional Napolitano style, but we actually preferred Franco's that didn't have the crust that looks like a bicycle tire! The toppings were fresh and plentiful and we ate until we were stuffed...again (a common thing around here). ...

I recently visited Da Franco Food Philosophy and while the staff were nice, I found the pizza to be just okay. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't the best pizza I've ever had either.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and cozy, but I wasn't blown away by the food. While I appreciate the restaurant's philosophy of using fresh ingredients and local produce, I didn't feel like it translated into the flavor of the pizza.

Overall, if you're looking for a nice atmosphere and decent pizza, Da Franco Food Philosophy is worth checking out. However, if you're a true pizza connoisseur, you may want to...

We tried Franco’s Pizzeria after hearing good things, but our experience was a bit underwhelming. The service was just okay — we had to get the staff’s attention multiple times before being able to order, which made things feel a bit disorganized.

We ordered the Diavola and Capricciosa pizzas. The dough itself was excellent — light and well-prepared — but the overall pizzas were a bit too oily for our taste. We preferred the Diavola, though the spicy salami slices were cut a bit too thick, which threw off the balance of flavors.

Not a bad spot, but for us, it didn’t quite live up...

Absolutely one of the best restaurants and pizzas we’ve had in all of Italy! We came here after being recommended by our AirBNB host and made sure we came back second night in a row! We had the Margarita Con Crudo and Capricciosa ; if you’re into olives this is a delight but the Con Crudo was the game changer for us! We came back the second day and ordered only that! You have the choice to have a pizza for 2 ; half half as well , the waiter helped us decide and was great!

Secondo me, comunque, vanno riviste alcune cose: 1.

Wow wow wow. We wished that there was a place like this in our hometown. We would be there all the time. Excellent pizzas with the best ingredients. Pizzas come in 30cm or 50cm. 30cm pictured. Absolutely amazing focaccia with buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, and ham on top. Very reasonably priced and relatively free of the tourist crush.
