Went there with a tour group of 33 people, all planned through the tour group. We were quickly seated, and quickly fed. They kept missing me in the corner of table and I had no silverware or plates as they had bread and oil out. Took another five minutes and me flagging down another different waiter to get the plates and silverware.

The second round was very small portion of noodles that were about two inches long, hollow on inside in a sauce that I could only say was water with some tomato juice added to it? Absolutely no taste what so ever. Also, everything is " Al Dante" but a lot of mine were simply not cooked and hard. This as if someone threw in new noodles in already boiling pot of water.

Next was the "veal", if you can call it that. It was a very thin pounded out piece of some type of meat served with a gravy that was probably the run off juice from all the meats made together. There was a lot of gelatin in the meat sauce which made it very unappealing. I would consider this meat below chopped beef, in no way was it veal as it was not tender at all. In fact, out of 8 people seated at my table, 4 took one taste and left theirs where it was not eating it. I looked around other tables and a lot of them were only 1/2 eaten.

Now, the desert...What is square shaped and jiggles but has the texture and consistency of something a little harder than jello? We do not know what it was, but people passed on this after one bite like I did also.

Last, but not least...the Limoncello shot...ahh something I had many time previously at other places in Italy. Slam down it goes, and almost comes back up just as fast! It tasted liked pure Vodka with maybe a hint of lemon juice? Just terrible. People at the table laughed with the almost gagging/expression on my face after taking the shot.

Not good at all for a last meal all together. I spoke with the tour guide and he said they were known more for their pizza's, which was evident by look of every table only having pizzas....good choice.

DAY 2: Next day my wife and I go to have pizza at Red Lion because it was recommended. We fly out next day early and they advertise they are open 11am-12pm, works out great! So we go at 4:10 and BOY, DO NOT DO THAT EVER AGAIN. We ordered our pizzas at 4.20 and waited, and waited, and waited. We did not get our pizza until about 5:30! We were seated outside, and my wife had the angle she could look down into the restaurant and noticed the chefs were all eating at a table way in back from about 4:35-5:15..... WTF. If you advertise you are open, you should have staff to make food for when people come in at times you say you are open! People came in after us at around 5:00 pm and were served their food or their pastas before us! We asked the waiter where I food was and out they came about 15 minutes later. The pizzas were ok, had better, again the sauce was very weak and watered down. The center of the Pizzas were very under cooked.

We looked for our waiter to get check and leave and could not find him. My wife looked into restaurant and guess what... YES HE WAS EATING. We flagged down another waiter and asked for our check....10 minutes later he comes and clears our table of all food but no check. We then get 5 minutes later a " surprise gift for both of you" and guess what they serve us? That jello think we got the night before that looked like wiggly fat! Nope, not having it. So finally I asked for the check again, this time from a person who was dressed better like the manager. He came out with...guess what? Two limoncello shots! and says on the house. I sipped mine, hoping it to be better and heck no, so much for this place. We finally left, after getting the bill and ASKING to put a tip in too! NOPE. We left at 6:10! two hours wasted, we should of walked out earlier! We ran next door to some of the BEST GELATO and nicest people we met at the shop next to RED LION. They could learn how to serve dessert...

(For some reason this is coming up as a hotel and not a restaurant - but the other reviews are for a restaurant and the title says restaurant, so go figure.)

We read about this place and it was called non-touristy, which was exactly the opposite of the vibe we experienced there. I'm not saying that's a terrible thing, but it is just a reality, so choose accordingly depending on what you're looking for. Despite the availability of outdoor seating, we ate inside. The indoor atmosphere was nice enough, but bright. The service was unlike anything I've experienced. I'm guessing it's done for efficiency. We had a different waiter seat us, take our order, bring our drinks, bring our first course, bring our second course, bring the check. Literally, a different person each time. The food was quite good, but it was the most expensive restaurant we went to in our 10 days in Italy. I started with the insalata caprese, which was quite tasty because the ingredients were so fresh, and my husband had grilled mixed vegetables, which he really enjoyed. For the main course my husband had pasta with shrimp and zucchini in a cream sauce, which he loved. I had a grilled whole sea bass, which I really enjoyed a lot. The waiter presented the whole raw fish to me before he brought it to the kitchen to cook - nice touch. The service, despite the have-the-next-waiter-take-care-of-the-next-thing approach, was actually on the slow side. I was going to order dessert but it took so long for a waiter to come around that we just asked for the check. I'm very familiar with Italian approach to meals (lived here for 4 years), and how it can be relaxed and long, but this was too long to wait to ask for dessert. All in all it's a mixed experience. I keep telling myself that the food was really good, but for some reason the experience comes up a little short for me. Check it out for the food, but be open minded as to the...

Dined here for lunch on July 4, 2023. If I could give zero stars I would. This was the worst place my family and I dined in during our one week stay in Italy. We did a day trip from Rome and our driver highly recommended this restaurant so we arrived thinking we were going to a decent place for lunch. What a horrible recommendation this turned out to be. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone!

The wait staff is extremely unprofessional and rude!

First we were seated inside at a cramped table in the corner. Way too close to the diners seated right next to us that I had to squeeze through a small space each time I needed to get out of my chair.

We also waited for what seemed like an eternity for a server to take our order. We watched as several servers walked by our table and each one would avoid making eye contact. Finally, I had to flag down a few who did not look very happy at all and was told by the first guy who mumbled that someone would be coming to our table. When no one ever came my family and I were ready to walk out and find another place, but I flagged another server down and he finally took our order. Honestly, none of the people who work here look very happy to be there. That speaks volumes, which usually means it usually starts from the management on down.

Not sure why this place was busy. Perhaps they were steered wrong just like us and told this was a good place to enjoy a meal? I can honestly tell you it's not! Steer clear and don't waste your...

Racist attitude & rude restaurant They insisted that it was a special menu, giving us something different from the one we ordered. It's said to be the same menu as the next table, but ours looked like food left by someone. The amount was small and all the fried dishes were crushed. The sauce is also missing, unlike the side table. I asked to bring the sauce, but they didn't. After that, we asked to cook the food again and bring it with the sauce. After a while, the dish came out again, and the amount was significantly small compared to the side table, and it was so salty that it was hard to even eat. The pasta was also terrible. It was hard to chew because the noodles were not ripe, and the clams weren't also ripe, so I was worried that I might have an upset stomach. While we were eating, the waiter came to our table a few times and tried to take our dishes and cutlery. It was very rude. There is a restaurant “La Cantinaccia del Popolo” nearby. Everyone, go there! according to my experience, their service was much better and the food was wonderful! Coming here was the biggest mistake of my life.

So many restaurants to choose from and yet we stumbled upon this one. If you have a hard time choosing something to eat, then their menu won't be your friend. For me, I loved having so many different items in each category to choose from. We started with a nice glass of Bianchi and Chianti, of course. Knowing the area we wanted to have fresh shrimp however, I recommend passing on this one. The flavor was excellent however the shrimp were so small it was more of a hassle than it was worth. My wife had pasta with clams, shrimp, and squid which was delicious. Here's the kicker, the shrimp in her meal were perfect in size and taste, just what you'd expect. Makes me think they used all the small ones on the appetizers just to get rid of them. Oh well. I had the lobster over linguini pasta with a delicious tomato and zucchini sauce. For dessert we tried the cherry custard pie, not what you'd ever see me choose in a restaurant however I'm so glad I did. I'd recommend trying the food, you won't be disappointed.
