Pizzeria Rosticceria da Michele — Restaurant in Sorrento

Staying at an AirBnB nearby, my wife sent me out late in search of suitable take-out. I decided to check out this place, as it was close enough by foot, and Google Maps said it was still open. I went inside and was immediately greeted by a lovely and very friendly young woman who helped me out - in English - with the menu. I chose a medium pizza with some toppings suggested by the lady. My pizza was done in a flash, and I was soon hurrying back to our apartment with a hot pizza box.

We were not disappointed - the pizza was fantastic. The crust was excellent, and the ingredients were all fresh. The red pizza sauce that provided the base was very good as well.

My wife and I had a great time in Sorrento. We hope to return, and when we do we will definitely visit Pizzeria Rosticceria da Michele for a sit-down dinner. Even though we only got take-out, the restaurant definitely seemed to have...

We were lucky enough that this place was on our way "home" during our 5-night stay in Sorrento. It is worth going out of your way! Staff is friendly, food is great and very affordable, they have a bigger variety than you'd think by looking at the storefront, and they don't charge extra to sit at a table (vs. carryout, which is also available; we did both). We ate here three times and would have eaten here every day if we hadn't already cooked a big meal that lasted two nights. Over our three meals here, we had pizzas (whole and by the slice), the 1/2 chicken with fries, rice balls, and a special of the day (should have written down the name; it was delicious). The street isn't as busy as being right in the main part of town (which to me, is Piazza Tasso), but it's only a couple of minutes walk away. Sitting along the street was peaceful. This pizza joint is a few steps away from the center of town but it is well worth it! The pizza is incredible, in fact it is the best I have ever had, and the best I could find in Sorrento! The environment is warm and cozy, the staff are very friendly and the service is impeccable. Not to mention there is no cover charge!! If I could do one thing if I went back to Sorrento it would be to go here hands down. If your in Sorrento and hungry, this is the place to go especially since it is also very competitively...
