The sign out front it says 2 aperol spritz for two people and the appetizer for €12 , come to find out that is not the case at all as you can see from the photo it is extremely misleading. They charge you €10 for each aperol spritz and the €12 for the appetizer. I even asked the server before ordering if it was all €12 for everything and he said yes. I understand that English is not their first language but it was a massive rip off. When we ordered entrees I pointed to the one I wanted and they brought me out the wrong dish, I told my server this and he said he would bring me the sides for the dish I actually ordered but it was a completely different dish than what I had wanted. They eventually took away what I did not order and brought me the correct thing. Did not apologize or give us anything special after my friends had already eaten their food so I had to eat my entree alone. When we got the bill and complained about the appetizer they took it off and then brought the new bill back with charges for two limoncello spritz for €12 EACH. the server said it was the same price so we pulled out the menu and showed him the aperol spritz is only €10. Overall a very disappointing experience for the price point and I would not recommend it at all as opposed to what other reviews say. The table next to us we were talking to got complimentary limoncello shots and we got absolutely nothing after they messed up our food. I even work in the restaurant industry and never complain so for me to get on here and write a review it has to be bad. Do not recommend at all, very upsetting for €155 dinner...

I’ll Gozzo is a local ristorante near the fish market in Sorrento. The food is absolutely some of the best food I’ve had in a long long time—preparation of each dish is full of flavor and is absolutely a competitor with some of the Michelin rated dining I’ve experienced in the past. Il Gozzo has daily specials, uses inventive preparation of meals with flavors that surprise and delight your tastebuds. They also have a great wine selection, and they recommend pairings based on your preferences. We tried a new white that I’ve never had before and it was so perfect with our meal! The table next to us had a red that they really loved. Dining inside you can see the kitchen chefs preparing food, and it’s a bright, modern vibe. Dining outside is a quieter experience with lovely evening ambiance and fresh air (but it is a little close to where cars drive so I preferred the indoor dining area). Near the indoor kitchen they display fresh fish and seafood the same way fresh fish markets do. They offer suggestions if you’re not sure what to order. We ordered carpaccio (the best I’ve ever had!), catch of the day (perfectly prepared with a depth of flavor), pasta with shrimp (so fresh and filling at the same time—so good!), and tiramisu (my favorite!!). The service was so wonderful—they accommodated us in every way and had great recommendations for meals and wines—we left the night feeling happy and like we had made lifelong friends. And the prices are fabulous. Amazing quality, amazing food and flavor, incredible value, and lovely service! I can’t wait to dine there again. I...

Il Gozzo is one of the most spectacular finds we made in Sorrento. On a trip where pretty much every meal was flawless, it managed to stand out as special.

There was a subtle yet flamboyant piece of theatre to each course. Truffle was taken from a glass box to be shaved over a super fresh carpaccio. The catch of the day (literally off the boat that morning) was red snapper that we had salt roasted. A table and hammer appeared at the end of our table and the crust was broken and the fish expertly filleted. I don't have words for how perfect the fish was. It's one of those dishes I'll remember for years. The grilled vegetables we ordered alongside it were also cooked to perfection. We split a tiramisu for dessert and espresso was drizzled over it from a tiny caffettiera at the table. Any of those things could have been a bit gimmicky but the quality of the food and the warm and playful service meant it was just joyful. The local fennel liqueur at the end was the ideal parting gift.

This is a restaurant run with passion and the best quality ingredients....
