Il Pozzo — Restaurant in Sorrento

After a beautiful and exciting day in Sorrento, we were hungry and excited to try a new restaurant that looked decent with great prices. Unfortunately, after being seated down at the a table and were greeted by multiple waitresses and waiters not designated one table. This caused chaos and confusion. Numerous orders were incorrect, including an anaphylactic dairy allergy which received dairy products twice. The initial meal had dairy and we sent it back, which they unprofessionally denied vehemently even though there was obviously cheese. They Scrambled up the meal to hide the dairy and put fresh pasta on top and served it again. At that point, the person at our table had a reaction to the dairy products in the pasta that they tried to hide. I had to bring out a third meal for this person which is olive oil and garlic and charges for the meal. We tried the swordfish which is extremely fishy and would not recommend. The side of mashed potatoes served in the meal were instant mashed potatoes from the packet. The ravioli was inedible, possibly some of the worst ravioli. Pasta carbonara was a joke. It was a scrambled eggs pasta- Would never recommend this unless it were breakfast time. Ultimately the worst meal on our trip so far unfortunately. Nice food but terrible service and staff smoking while standing at the entrance. We were very hungry when we went for our evening meal here, as we hadn't eaten since breakfast, so we were looking forward to it. When we arrived a member of staff pointed to a table for us to sit at, he came back with menus that he almost threw on the table beside us. I didn't get a starter but my partner did and he enjoyed it. Mains were nice, we had pizza and a beef fillet. When food was served, it was put down very abruptly (almost thrown down on the table) and the staff didn't even look at us. While eating our mains staff started smoking at the entrance (right next to where we were sitting) This just ruined the meal for me and my partner, inhaling secondary smoke while trying to enjoy a meal is just disgusting. The place wasn't busy at all so I can't excuse the rudeness of staff (to us anyway) they were very attentive to the table of 3 ladies across from us, they seemed to get excellent service and even managed to get conversation out if them. All in all the service and smoking ruined what could have been a good meal. Definately won't return when back...

Went into the restaurant on a whim. Service was pathetic. Had to call the server multiple times, before anything could get done. Asked for wifi the moment we sat down, didn't get pwd for the entirety of our stay, even after asking multiple times.

Ordered ceasar salad and a side of grilled Veggies. Salad was OK. But the grilled Veggies was a joke. Entirely cold dish. With few thin stripes of eggplant and zucchini grilled( but cold) and some bel peppers( which were not grilled ans were very mushy).

Asked for the bill, reminded 3 different servers, 4 times. But to no avail. Had to wait 20 mins to pay the bill alone.

Don't waste your time going here. Many better restaurants available.

Edit: since the restaurant responded saying, we directly went and sat at the table I have to respond. We were escorted by one of your staff members, who pointed out the exact table at which we are required to sit.

So please communicate with staff first, before responding. And your response pick and chose...
