Visited at end of May 2025. |Location was excellent. Pretty much in the heart of town with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. . 5 mins walk away from the ferry port to visit Capri, Amalfi coast etc. 10 mins walk away from main bus and train station. |The place itself was very clean and well presented. Staff at the reception desk were always eager to help, professional and courteous with very decent english. They helped us book many of our day trips with the ferries, buses, trains etc. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had the “Penthouse Suite” on the top floor which opened up directly onto the breakfast terrace. Additionally we had our own private terrace which was lovely to have in the middle of the hotel. |The Penthouse suite was made of 2 floors with a little cute kitchen upstairs with fridge, cooker, utensils, microwave etc if one was inclined to do your own cooking. Downstairs was the main bedroom, decent (not large) amount of room with very comfortable bed and firm pillows. Air conditioner worked very well. We slept very well after a busy day. Wall mounted LED TV with BBC World News was nice to have. Bathroom also decently sized, clean, modern and fantastic shower pressure. Staff cleaned it daily with change of towels etc. |Breakfast was a real treat in the mornings. Good choice of meats, cheese, cereals, fruit and made to order eggs every morning. The lady serving us ( I think, the Owner) was incredibly warm and hospitable. |Definitely will be coming back to this place again. Truly a...

Location: steps right into central souvenir shops and restaurants, walk 10 minutes to marina.
Allows 4 person in one room: it seems mostly family stay here as it allows 4 persons in one room - many hotels allows 3 max
Clean: it’s quite clean everywhere
Newly renovated: Interior is newly renovated
Staff is helpful and friendly
Cons:
Wi-fi: it’s a loft and upstairs bed wi-fi is not good
Small rooms: The place is very mini as this is an aged building and guess that’s to be expected in a crowded place like central sorrento but not always. The upstairs bedroom has low ceilings.
Bed is not very comfortable and pillows are not very comfortable- but we’ve not had comfortable pillows in a few places in italy
Overall, it’s still cheaper to book this hotel than having to book 2 rooms in a better and bigger hotel. Nearby Imperial Tra…. tano for example is like around €170 per night, two rooms would be €340 per night; while this is around €250 (we stayed during spring break so it’s off season) per night.
But if there is a cheaper hotel like Hotel Ca….ri it could work out not being a huge difference but then again many bigger hotels are old and out of date. This place is at least newly renovated.
In summary, considering the options in sorrento this could be...
Read moreWe are a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 young kids) and stayed at Magi house for 4 days. We really enjoyed our stay, connecting with locals and learning about the Old Town. People in this area are extremely approachable. The booking process for us was quick and efficient via Whatsapp and weblinks, completely automated. The check-in process (less than 2 mins) was very straight forward with no complications. The hotel offers several amenities like free food, nice outside deck to lounge in, a tea room, etc...but overall it's a very relaxing place to stay. The room we had was large and very clean (American King Bed + Queen-sized fold-out) and another couch within the nook. The bathroom had ample supply of towels, toiletries, etc. The front-desk was quick to respond when we required additional items. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to/through Sorrento. It gave us a fantastic location to explore from. It's quick to get in/out of, breakfast was fantastic and the service was fast. Breakfast is located in the sister-restaurant just outside...
