We originally were trying to get into La Ali a do del gusto across the street, but they were closing within the hour. Other reviews had mentioned coming here to master hosts across the street. Worst mistake ever. We got a table pretty quickly, but waited approximately 20 to 30 minutes to even get a drink and order taken. After our order was taken, we never received our bruschetta or garlic toast, but we were served fries instead. I ordered the house local red wine and was surprised to have it served chilled. We ordered the gnocchi and sausage pasta. We were starving by time the food finally came out and weâre ready to dig in. The gnocchi tasted like Chef Boyardee out of a can, it was very mushy and had no flavor. The sausage pasta was OK but a bit salty for my taste. I am not sure if it was the sausage or if there was too much salt in it. We were sat way in the back next to the kitchen, and the next thing that happened kind of nauseated me. I watched a waiter who had previously just come out of the bathroom, mix a salad in a bowl with his bare hands. I pray he had washed his hands before he did that. After tossing the salad with his bare hands, he placed it on a plate with bare hands and proceeded out of the kitchen to serve it. Weâre done.
At this point, we were done and ready for the check. The person in charge, possibly the owner came over to us and noticed that we did not eat much of our food. We advised that we didnât care much for it, and he, to his credit, offered to make us something different, but at this point, we were tired and ready to go home. The reason for the two star review is the fact that he did not charge my husband for the gnocchi or french fries, but he certainly did not seem happy about it. I would recommend passing this one up, Iâm not sure where the rave reviews come from. Although, a local did advise us that the only thing good there was their pizza. So if you do plan to come here, stick...
Read moreThe carbonara and pacheri pastas are awful. No flavor. Carbonara is watery scrambled eggs tasting like practically nothing. I told two waiters that I felt the food was flavorless. One appeared to not understand me. The other (who came to ask if I didnât like it since my plate was still full) never even came back to try to fix the issue. He came back take the plates later on but didnât offer to help at all.
Most meat dishes are served with fries which isnât what I was looking forward to in Italy. The meatballs kind of saved the meal. The sauce was actually tasty and they were stuffed with cheese.
The tomato bruschetta had little flavor. The garlic bruschetta was good but the flavor needed to be throughout the entire piece of bread and not just the center.
Finally, I basically got ignored once my plates were taken. I asked for the check and the waiter went on to do other things. I had to ask another waiter.
I wouldnât recommend this restaurant to anyone. Itâs cheap for a reason. We still got ripped...
Read moreIt's a good restaurant in Sorrento with nice menu. Totally it was good. The antipasto (starte) as you can in the photo is a very normal ingredients. We told them for 3 person and supposed it's larger than this. The second photo is Frittura di gamberi e calamari con insalata mista (Fried shrimps and squid with mixed salad) which it had just 1 shrimp and no more. It's taste was delicious and costs 10 Euro. The third photo is Pasta fresca o Spaghetti con vongole (homemade pasta or Spaghetti with fresh clams) which coated 9 Euro was delicious also but didn't have enough vongole. The next photo is Pasta Fresca alla siciliana (homemade pasta with mozzarella cheese, aubergines and tomato) costed 9 Euro was very normal pasta and didn't worth that much. The half litter vino rosso also costed 5 Euro and was the best part. The main problem was that they work very slowly and all this food took more than 2 hours. So, if you are not in rush and want a cheap food, it's nice to try it. At the end also offered...
