Trattoria Manneken pis — Restaurant in Sorrento

The worst eatery in Sorrento by far. From the start, the waitress had a sour attitude with us because we were Americans and had questions on the menu. The food literally tastes like Chef Boyardee made it and they took it out of the can and served it to us, the crooked/missing tooth hostess was too busy talking to her friends in the street than seat us and offer us a drink, it was 11 minutes for us to even be get acknowledged and served a drink! The lasagne was so limp I though I was served eggplant parmesean. The garlic bread must be where the waitress got here dental work from it was so bitter tasting and crusty, go eat anywhere, just NOT here, the nerve of these nasty employees and combative attitude of these people is just plain shameful. The waitress told my daughter to "go back to America" and slammed the chair next to her when we told her the food was not good and tried to make us pay for the Chef Boyardee lasagne and the carbonara that tasted like cheap Kraft...

Over the years (25) we have frequented this bar a lot. My hubby being a particular fan of the large beer. Since covid it has had a renovation (a new kitchen, new bathroom and a whole new menu). The staff here are great Rossano and Joanne particularly we have chatted with over many years and it’s always great to be back and have a friendly welcome. Tonight we had food (pizza, steak and cannelloni) 3 meals between 4 and they didn’t bat an eye (so many places frown upon this) and the food was exceptionally good (from the worlds fussiest pizza and steak eaters). There’s always a good atmosphere and in the heat of the day it can give welcome shelter from the hot sun. People need to give this place the credit it deserves as it has gone from strength to strength. Well done Mannekin Pis… we will...

Food was not bad, but the bald waiter was very rude... when we asked him for table for 4 people, he didnt say nothing and walked away. He also called me "tonto" what means stupid, after i asked for the bill. He was laughing and said that it means "to much for you", but google translator works well. Maybe its time to change the job? We stay here for a week, if he was polite, we d come there once again, but thanks for this waiter we can only show middle finger for this unprofessional place... there is like 100 restaurants in Sorrento, belive me You can find even better food with polite crew, who is not angry on You, that you came and they need to work becouse of you... So once again. Maybe time to change the job or get retired...
