During our recent visit to Sorrento, we stumbled upon Tasso Lounge Bar, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! This restaurant excels in every aspect, from its impeccable service to its mouthwatering dishes.

If you’re a fan of fresh fish, this is the place to be. The seafood is simply outstanding — incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared, and bursting with Mediterranean flavors. Whether you try their catch of the day or one of their signature seafood dishes, you won’t be disappointed. Each bite was a reminder of how close we were to the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea.

But what truly surprised us was their English breakfast. It’s rare to find a place in Italy that nails a traditional English breakfast, but Tasso Lounge Bar exceeded all expectations. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon crisp, and the accompanying toast and beans were exactly what we needed to start the day. It’s a perfect blend of hearty and satisfying, with just the right touch of Italian finesse.

The ambiance is charming, with a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe that makes you want to linger. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Tasso Lounge Bar offers an experience that’s both delightful and memorable.

My fiancé and I were wandering around Sorrento looking for a place to have dinner and walked by this couple eating what looked like the best pasta I’ve ever seen. And it was!!! After seeing that dish we decided we should try it out and man Tasso did not disappoint! Davide was an absolute pleasure to be served by, he made wonderful recommendations and checked in on us frequently! Also Chef Lauro was so much fun and of course served up the best meal we’ve had in Italy! Who am I kidding, each person on the staff was great! We started with a bottle of local red wine, the caprese salad and bruschetta. The bruschetta was amazing, the bread cooked to perfection and the tomatoes fresh and perfectly seasoned. For the mains we each got a pasta, I got the pesto and my fiancé got the bolognese and we shared an order of meatballs. The pesto was the best I’ve ever had along with the homemade pasta, the meatballs were so tender and delicious and the bolognese was fabulous. We finished the meal with some delicious tiramisu and a pistachio cannoli. If you have a food allergy, this place is for you, they specifically write what has lactose, gluten, ect on the menu. Thrilled to discover Tasso on the first day of a short stay in Sorrento. Immediately our daily stop for perfect cappuccino and delicious pastries, we didn’t realize the high caliber of the dinner menu until passing by the kitchen during an evening stroll.

The culinary aroma of local ingredients being prepared was so substantial and savory that I came to a full stop to let my nose verify its origin. Once we sampled the incredible Bolognese, we wished we’d realized this as the incredible dinner spot it is earlier.
