Aperitivo was tasty and inventive, however customer service was really poor. Let me give you some examples:
We ordered two glasses of sparkling wine. One turned out to be completely flat so we told a staff member this. This person then himself tried the wine in front of us. Why? Would he have given back the glass had he thought it was fine? Sorry, but this is just not how you behave in front of guests. Nonetheless, we got a new glass that was just fine. No apologies or nothing...
Once we had finished the aperitivo we wanted to order a bottle of wine and some still water. After a good while the waiter comes with two glasses of the wine and sparkling water. OK, so they got two out of two wrong, but these things happen. We politely notified the waiter that we ordered a bottle and not two glasses. We did not care to inform that we wanted still, not sparkling, water. The waiter just said OK and then took our glasses of wine without apologies. Come on, just apologize and ask leave the glasses on the house instead of pouring them out.
After a long time waiting, the waiter comes back to let us know that they have ran out of the wine we ordered and just gave us the menu. He once again did not apologize or ask to help us select a different wine. At this time I have just had enough of this, and said to the waiter that we would like the bill instead and that he could take back the water that we had not opened.
Lo and behold, when we get the bill they have charged for both the bottle of wine and the water. Clearly this was a mistake but when we already have had so much trouble, just make sure the bill is OK. I notified the waiter, who again did not apologize for the mistake but just brought a new bill for us. Payment went fine though!
Hopefully some manager at Burgio sees this and addresses these issues because the place really has good potential, but these kind of customer service experiences are really not acceptable.
For fellow visitors I would recommend you to visit Burgio at the market instead, where we were treated...
Read moreReally bad experience! We arrived more than one hour before closing on a Monday. Ordered 2 drinks from a really kind waiter, after we got our drinks a rude waitress brought out the bill without us asking for it. We were confused but she mase it clear that we have to pay so we did… Around 2:15am they were in a rush to close the bar meanwhile the place was open until 3am: they took the pillows of our seats (YES! FROM UNDER US!), also the decorations of the table. When I finished my drink at 2:24am I wanted to use the bathroom of the place but they didn’t let me! They said they had already cleand it but I can pee in the sea if I want😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 how nice, wonderful hospitality! The one waiter who took our order brought the key for the toilet, but one of the girl from the staff said NO again so he took it back! Really SHAMEFUL! You should not spend...
Read moreSat down when they only had a few other customers, but still it took quite some time to get attention.
Once I did I asked for an Aperol Spritz and a panini. The spritz arrived after some time, but was for sure the most disappointing spritz I've had. As for the panini I waited more than half an hour for it before I decided to take the check.
When they offered me not to pay for the panini I first thought that it saved a second star, but when I saw what they charged for the disappointing spritz I changed my mind.
The view is fantastic though, but there are other bars with the same view (and benches if you want to bring your own panini and...
