The bruschetta was the best thing I had here, the tomatoes were fresh and tasted very nice, however the rest of the meal was mediocre at best. The tortellini panna e prosciutto cotto while tasting okay was in a very watery sauce and seemed like it used cheap ingredients, it reminded me of an oven ready meal from the supermarket in England. I ordered a tiramasu for desert, half was warm and collapsing, the other half the temperature expected from a tiramasu, it tasted as though they had got it from a packet, not dislikable but not what you'd expect from a restaurant in a location like this with the reviews it has, again the sort of thing bought ready made from a cheap supermarket. The location of the restaurant is good, on the main walking street and perfect for watching the world pass you by, the atmosphere is nice, the staff are pleasant and friendly, but it did take over 20 minutes to pay the bill and I had to ask several times before the card machine was brought out. I would advise steering clear of the wine, it was the worst glass of white wine I've had in a while. I feel as though the musicians on the street who force you to pay for the performance or make you uncomfortable are borderline beggars at this point, they should be shooed away by the restaurant as it's a tacky false traditional performance and uncomfortable feeling considering I was listening to a podcast during their performance and not them, yet they still pressured me into donating. All in all I would probably not come here again, but if there's no where good available then here...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem. Not just because of the food (many gluten free options!) but also because of the atmosphere and the service. It’s prime for people watching if that’s something you enjoy—we had the luck of witnessing a wedding in the church across the way! The waiters were extremely helpful and attentive and very knowledgeable about gluten free and vegan/dairy free options. I felt very safe eating here and that peace of mind is one that I rarely feel when eating out due to my dietary restrictions. In fact we ate here twice because of it. They had an extensive gluten free menu as well as a regular menu for my travel companions who were not gluten free. When we went for dinner we ordered the artichoke salad to share and it was absolutely delicious. I opted for pizza with vegan cheese as my main. It was also pretty good. The next day we went back for lunch and I got the tuna sandwich. The bread was so good—hot and soft on the inside but a little crunchy on the outside. Quite honestly it might have been the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Highly...
Read moreWe were swayed by the rating on Google (4.3), our impressions, well.... Service very friendly and approachable... but only for Italians, or regular customers. We even got our appetizer later than the elderly couple who came after us a, who were affectionately greeted by the waiter. The food? The pizza had a hard dough with a sour aftertaste, by far the worst we had the opportunity to eat in Taormina, Bruschetta over-salted to the point that half of the water we ordered went down with this dish. In addition, lasagna, which was served to us completely unlike the lasagna served to the lady at the table next to us (completely different size, ours was dried out, you can see that it had to lie much longer). Mr. and Mrs. at the table next to us also had reservations about the pizza , which they received (the smell of this pizza was not at all attractive). Conclusion? The conclusion is, therefore, the same, if you want to eat well and with taste then...
