I loved the food here. The location in next to the dome. The portions are big - you get a lot for your money. So far my wife and I ate pasta, pizza and chicken + pistachio desert. All were great. 🍕 The pizza is made on the stove with wood from what I can tell and is huge with a crunchy, smokey crust. You can get one pizza for 2 if you don't have a big appetite. 🍝 The carbonara was so tasty - the pasta was very filling. 🧁 The desert was just right with a lot of ground pistachio. 🍷 We had some good rose and white wine at €5 per glass! The staff is kind and hospitable to both nationals and foreigners. You can order in english to your heart's content. You cand pay with cash in euro and with card if you wish to do so. The view is very relaxing towards the dome with a lot of blue sky above. We will probably eat here the next few days as well - we haven't tried the meatballs and the other pasta variants...
Read moreStaff are as rude as one can possibly be. When ordering, the waiter exclaimed that I'm ordering too much food 😂 apparently main dish (sea food) with a salad and chips is too much. Fine, I left the chips go... I asked for an umbrella to be opened as the sunshine was too intense, which ended with two waiters arguing together and pointing at me. It was a circus. I offered to move inside to stop the ruckus, but the bread basket and the oil from my table were all but slammed on the table inside with a sour pus expression. I had a good time observing other guests being treated in the same manner if you're not speaking Italian. The tables are dirty and full of crumbs. Food quality - the salad is ridiculous... Just bitter cabbage, carrot shavings and an old tomato. Fried seafood - thank God I had beer. Never coming back and...
Read moreVery disappointing experience on our last night in Taormina in May 2022. The service was appalling and the attitude of the staff was poor. We said no to a bottle of water on arrival and were still presented with one. Our two meals were ordered at the same time but the pizza, which was mediocre, arrived before my pasta dish and after 10 minutes I had to ask for it. I ordered Penne Zucchine Ricotta and was presented with a dish that was swimming in brown oil (the courgettes were burnt) and looking very unappetising. It was the worst pasta dish I have ever had and I only had a few mouthfuls. No-one asked us how were our meals or reacted to my uneaten dish. To top it all - the bill came with a 2 euro cover charge per person which we hadn't been charged anywhere else that week, and which we would have been happy to pay...
