We ate outside, and it was spectacular! Great food, service and ambiance. We were sat quickly even though it seemed like they expected us to have a reservation.
Food: We weren't very hungry, so we just got the swordfish roll and purple cauliflower souffle. Both were very fancily plated, and absolutely delicious. The swordfish wasn't fishy at all, and it all had a lot of flavor. The meal came with 3 kinds of bread; hard sesame bread sticks, soft crusted white bread and spongy crusted white bread. For dessert we ordered the canoli and pistachio semifredo. The canoli were absolutely incredible; full of flavor and fresh made. The pistachio semifredo was amazing as well, made from pistachios grown on Mt Etna!
Service: We were sat quickly, and attended to very well. The dishes also came quickly, and when we ordered dessert after we ate dinner (meaning the dessert would take a minute) they brought us small plates so we could snack on the bread with olive oil.
TL;DR We were able to get in without a reservation, but it was clear that they were expecting one. Amazing food, pistachio semifreddo with pistachios from Mt Etna, non-fishy swordfish roll, and incredible canoli. Fast,...
Read moreThis was an impromptu, walk-in that turned out to be one of our favorite dinners in Sicilia. We sat in the beautifully lit garden and our server, Luca, treated us like royalty from start to finish. I should mention that we do not look like royalty, lol! Luca spoke English very well but was pleased that I wanted to practice my Italian. We asked for his recommendations for the wine ( a wonderful rosatta), the appetizer ( we split the night’s special zuppa with seafood) and the main course ( we shared a whole sea bass, prepared Sicilian style.). All were amazing and perfectly prepared. The Fish was baked and presented to us whole on a platter, then fileted and plated with the Sicilian tomatoes, capers and olives and roasted potatoes. We finished with tirimasu - not our first in Sicily - but possibly the best. We were then given complimentary limoncelli and after that, another liqueur that was made from sun dried, fallen grapes. Luckily we were staying nearby! I told him “Dormo qui!” He said that would be fine, they were closed the next day! An evening and a “cena”...

We ordered:
We commented to our waiter that we didn’t like the first 2 dishes and he was very sorry and understanding and promised to make it up for us by giving complimentary drinks.
The only compliment we got was the check that was incorrect and higher than it should be (the other waitress just accepted it and corrected the sum right in the payment terminal without even saying sorry)
Don’t waste your money visiting this place. Tbh you can get better price-quality in any pizza kiosk in Italy.
Not to sound like a food snob or something - just yesterday we went to another restaurant in Taormina with the same price level and everything was superb (btw we also ordered octopus and it was amazing - very...
