The owner threatened to sue me for defamation and report me to the consulate if I wrote a review. That really should tell you everything you need to know, but since I’ve got your attention…I personally found this place to be significantly more expensive than comparable restaurants in the area, despite the food quality and presentation being average at best. For instance, they charge €100/kg for Sea Bream which can be found at dozens of nearby restaurants for €70/kg. Not the first time I’ve been up-charged for a good location with a nice view. Normally that’s all fine and good, but they had the audacity to charge me €178 for a simple Lobster Tagliolini that is listed on the menu for €36. Despite numerous attempts to clarify the situation at the time of the meal and after the fact, the owner insisted that I ordered a live lobster. Whether this was a mistake or a predatory practice, I really can’t say either way. Any attempt at rectifying the error has resulted in the owner accusing me of extortion. He’s probably going to respond to this and call me a fraudster and cite surveillance footage that he refuses to share (yes your meal is being recorded). He also seems to think that my kindness towards his staff is proof enough that I enjoyed my meal. Anyway, here’s a photo of a €178 Lobster Tagliolini. If this looks like a good deal to you, I recommend eating here. UPDATED: Attached my correspondence with the owner

What a joke and sorry excuse for restaurant service. The Michelin Guide should be embarrassed to have recommended this place although they are right to NOT award it a star as the sweaty waiter likes to claim. After asking the locals if this was the norm, they mentioned it used to be good but was taken over by a new owner which would explain how they had a better reputation before. Very overpriced and mediocre food with terrible table service and zero ability to make a simple cocktail that doesn't taste like water and flat soda. The only redeeming quality of this place is the location but you're in Taormina so you can find another restaurant with better food, service, and views. Avoid at all costs especially when you have only a few nights in this city; don't waste a restaurant choice on this place. EDIT TO ADD: In response to the person who replied to this review -- you only had waiters working the evening I went. Check your multiple security cameras you have set up around the restaurant. Hope you have the life you deserve.

Really liked this place. Went there Summer 2024. Cruise ship excursion to Taormina. Had very limited time before we had to get back to the tour bus. We were rushed, we were sweaty from the broiling heat, famished and thirsty, we looked like crap. Moment we stepped in, we embarrassing told the Maitre D of our time constraints. He assured us that we will be taken care of. Very friendly, very soft spoken. He had a lot of grace when bringing us our food. Recommended well. We still talk about the crab pasta till this day. A little too much dill, but it's unmistakably crabby. We didn't take the lobster, as it's of abundance where I live. The shrimp and tuna were clean tasting, and sweet. The red shrimp pasta was memorable too. Didn't have time to try their desserts. View out the balcony was postcard beautiful.
