La Casetta di Zio Gaetano — Restaurant in Taranto

Really unfriendly to tourists! Went there for a quick lunch. After we ordered the two women were practically ignoring our order. After a while, we got our food. The food was definitely nice, pretty cheap too.

My problem was the service, we are tourists and weren’t treated nicely. We wanted to return to the counter and get some drinks for the road. The lady yells at me that they were closing. I wouldn’t have had a problem if the people who spoke italian right behind me still could order.

Then, after asking again, I could get my drinks. 3 waters, 3 softdrinks. Should have been around €8 if you looked at their pricing.

I gave €20, they proceed to give me €2 and maybe ten small coins of a few cents, like literally a handful of coins.

After complaining, they ‘didn’t understand’. I wanted to tell them it’s crazy to give tourists a disadvantage, especially if it looks like your city could use some.

This sandwich shop was awesome! The menu offers pork, sausage and chicken panini’s. I asked for a vegan/vegetarian option and they were happy to offer an all veggie sandwich with or without cheese.
