Al Gambero la cucina di pesce — Restaurant in Trieste

I do hate to leave a bad review for a small business establishment. However, the food was not of average taste, the sardines were the best dish.

This plate along with another smaller plate that had three fried anchovies a serving of leafy vegetables, and one glass of wine, came to 38 Euros. For subpar food at a very expensive price, I cannot recommend this place

Perhaps this was a mistake, I stood at the counter for several minutes in disbelief staring at the total. If you go there, be sure to ask for the total before sitting down. I was encouraged to sit and eat before paying the total.

Obviously my review stands out negatively compared with others. Perhaps I just chose the wrong things and/or an honest mistake was...

Had a delicious dinner here tonight with a sea bass cake, sea bass pasta, and broccoli. There were 8 or 10 meat choices and 6 or 7 veggies to choose from.Our meal came with fresh bread and it was delightful . The staff were super friendly as we only speak English. She went over all the delicious offerings helping us to make our choices. You pay by weight and can also get items to go for meals later. It is basically like a buffet when you order to eat there. Definitely recommend...

I love places where language barriers don’t matter because the people you meet are genuinely warm and welcoming. Al Gambero - Pescheria e Cucina is exactly that kind of spot.
