Instead od welcome words from staff strange communication just from the beginning: "This is not italian restaurant, you know?" Eh, we'd like to visit greek restaurant, it looks like greek restaurant, so our answer was "Yeah, we know it, no problem." But service continued "But we don't have pizza, pasta!" I was excepting also supplement "... you dumb tourists!". We were looking on each other and tell her "And? We know it." Finally we found the place. After asking about charge 2,5€ / person (just for clarify) another service girl told us it's in every restaurant in Italy. Service fee is normal, extra charging also, I know. Every restaurant has own rules, some restaurants don't have it (or smaller amount), so I told her. Nothing more, it wasnt't offensive, we were accepting house rules. But could be kinda pricey if you go with more people and ordered just one meal per person for example (just kept in mind). Than began strange behaviour from girls staff. They were talking about us (you'll recognize it) and began overlooking. Nobody from them asked if the meal was ok, nobody asked if we want to make another order and after finishing meals and drinks we waited 30-45 minutes for paying. I must to wave on service boy, cause girls were completely ignored us. Really unprofessional, unpleasant experience. Food was normal, must say rather average (pita bread and souvlaki was burnt), nothing spectacular. The environment next to the garden seating is disconsolate (looks like hole after WW2 bombing), but service (sorry boys) ruined...
Read moreThis is hands down one of the best places in Trieste to eat at. It is a Greek family run business and you get authentic Greek food at a really affordable price. The staff is really polite and speak English so they help you out with food items if you are not able to make it out from their names. We had shown them photos from google reviews to ask them the names and the food turned out to be delicious.
We tried their friend potato with minced meat filling antipasto, their pork skewers, their meat in stew with a side of rice, their pita bread and semolina dessert. Another day I had tried their pasta
Each and every item was delicious and the breathtaking. After eating so many items the bill came out to be only 55 euro total. It was super affordable since it was shared between two of us.
The ambiance is also beautiful. They have Grecian islands painted on walls and old film references used as decors. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Even though the outdoor seating is more beautiful it is preferable to sit indoors during the winter evenings.
This is a highly recommended place for both residents and...

We ordered and after an hour and a half we had nothing, so we asked a waiter and finally they brought EVERYTHING we ordered at the same time (so hot food got cold, it was messy, there was no space to move). To top it off, the squid we ordered (€18) should have come with some sides (tsatsiki, fries), or so we were told by the waitress. It came UNACCOMPANIED. €18 worth of squid, 3 tentacles and no sides. Nothing. When we asked for an explanation, the waitress came (late) and apologized and then said she would offer us fries and she would pay for them. Didn’t me and my friends already pay for fries AND tsatsiki to go with the squid? 🙄 Finally, when I used to work as a waitress and something like this would happen, we’d offer drinks or dessert on the house. We still had to pay €25 each for food that was too little (€6 halloumi cheese was half as big as an iphone 11) and too late (an hour and a half. Come on.)
I think they take advantage of the fact that they’re (I think) the only Greek restaurant in Trieste and they’re the biggest. I’ll definitely never go...
