🦐🍚 🇬🇧 Review for celiacs : Little Italy Tropea While on holiday in Tropea, I found a true gem for anyone with celiac disease: Little Italy, right in the heart of the historic center. Tonight I had an amazing gluten-free pizza, made entirely by their own pizzaiolo with fresh homemade dough no pre-made bases! I chose the Mortazza: basil cream, mortadella, burrata, pistachio, and fresh basil. A flavor explosion! 🍕💚 The pizza is wood-fired, but always baked in a separate tray to avoid any cross-contamination. And it doesn’t stop there: they cook gluten-free pasta separately too, using dedicated pots. They are extremely well-equipped for celiacs, and you can tell they take food safety seriously. If you love fried food, they even have a dedicated gluten-free fryer. I paired everything with a gluten-free beer and left feeling happy and satisfied. The owner has a celiac in the family, so the care and attention are top-notch. The staff is young, welcoming, attentive, and very knowledgeable. My husband, who isn’t celiac, tasted my pizza and said it was delicious and trust me, if he says that, it really was! Highly recommended: 10 out of 10! If you're vacationing in Tropea or nearby, make sure to stop by. I’ll definitely be back I’ve already spotted their seafood risottos, and I can’t wait to try them! 🦐🍚

We arrived at 21:30, it's 22:30 and we're still waiting for food. Furthermore, it says closing time is 23:00. There's zero interest, almost no one speaks English, and it's incredibly difficult to communicate. I was embarrassed when I saw what they presented us as pizza. We ordered a salad, but it didn't arrive; there was a mistake on the bill (and the table across from us had the same problem tonight). They sent two limoncellos to apologize, but I don't think such things can be compensated. They shamelessly charge a service fee, and we are paying for a service we can't even receive. It's truly sad...

The Little Italy is all right, even though not my first choice in Tropea (instead: Osteria della Cipolla Rossa and Alice). The appetizer plate with sea food was delicious (except the squid which was partly grumpy), the fish of the day as well. Nevertheless, I find 24 Euro for the fish too expensive. They have it on the menu with 6 Euro per pound and I highly doubt that it had 2 kilograms. The Spaghetti Carbonara was all right, but we had much better ones in Italy. The staff could be a bit more attentive.

So, we ordered linguine allo scoglio, one fried schnitzel with fries and octopus tenticles with mash patatos. Well we waited 1 hour for food, and when it came, on pasta there were 10 shells, only 2 had clamps inside, no shrimps no vongole clamps, just calamari, for those who knows what allo scoglio is will know what it should look like. My wife who ordered octopus got 2 tenticles size of a carrot. Dish was labeled as second plate, but size of it was more like aperitive. And that was 22€. So- 1 pasta scoglio, 1 octopus tenticles, 1 schnitzel, 1 water, 1-0.5l beer, 1-0.25l beer costed 74€.. i...
