EL TIKI BY LAZO — Restaurant in Turin

The food and ambience were great. The staff were all also very nice. My issue is that at the end of the night, a member of staff came over, removed the food off our table (some of which was still untouched), placed the bill on the table, and told us we had to leave. I’m assuming it was to make space for another party to sit. This is nothing against the staff (they were very nice, even when saying it), but it just wasn’t very pleasant, especially because they didn’t ask if we wanted to take the food or anything, just removed it. I would’ve been more understanding if they had come over at any point before and gave us a prior warning (15, even 5 minutes before would’ve been nice), but they never said anything until they told abruptly us to leave.

For context, I came here a while ago and have been meaning to write this review but just got around to it. Also, I went on a busy night, I think it was a Friday, and stayed around 2 hours before being told to leave. We had an appetiser, main courses and drinks, so not like a coffee and hogged the table. Regardless, I have never had this happen before, even at fully packed restaurants and it felt almost a little humiliating. I understand restaurants have a turnover expectation, but you certainly shouldn’t be kicking people out without even a warning.

Absolutely blown away by this place — hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Turin! We ordered the chicken and steak fajitas, and wow — both meats were cooked to perfection: juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. They were served sizzling with beautifully caramelized onions and peppers, alongside rice and beans that were honestly the best I’ve ever tasted. Warm tortillas came on the side, perfect for wrapping everything up into one amazing bite.

We also had some cocktails — the tequila sour was incredible, smooth and citrusy, and the vodka tonic was spot on. The service was top-tier: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere? Next level. A live DJ was playing, and the whole place had a great energy — people were clearly having a great time. There’s seating both inside and outside, but I’d highly recommend making a reservation because this is without a doubt one of Turin’s hottest spots....

Gestione pessima. Mi dispiace dover dare una valutazione così bassa ad un locale che con alcuni accorgimenti, sarebbe davvero interessante, ma la mia serata e quella dei miei ospiti é stata rovinata. Prenoto alle 8. La location é bella, suggestiva, colorata e con musica piacevole. Troppo alta per i miei gusti perché a malapena sentivo i miei amici di fronte a me, ma tolto questo, l'ambiente é gradevole e pulito. Ci servono i cocktail alle 8:45. I camerieri sono gentili e preparati, ma la cucina é troppo lenta. Le prime portate arrivano alle 9:15 e sono un antipasto per un mio amico. Tutti gli altri piatti arriveranno dopo altri dieci, venti minuti e tutti separati non permettendoci di neanche mangiare insieme per non far raffreddare le pietanze calde. Il mio ragazzo aveva ordinato un banalissimo tagliere di salumi iberici (nulla che richiedesse una preparazione) e gli é stato portato dopo 4 solleciti alle 21:45, ad un quarto d'ora dal coprifuoco. Il menù é ampio: comprende tapas, taglieri, carne e sushi rivisitato alla maniera iberica. Le portate sono buone, le materie prime fresche, la presentazione ottima. I prezzi sono sopra la media: per un tagliere, si parla di 15€, per un sushi da 8 pezzi di 10€, un cocktail 10€. Sicuramente ciò che ne vale meno la pena sono gli antipasti: minuscoli e tutti intorno ai 7/8 €. Ma trovo che il prezzo non sia un problema, giustificato dalla particolarità del locale. Il vero problema è stata la gestione dell'ordine perché non posso mangiare in tempi diversi dai miei ospiti e soprattutto che un ordine arrivi 1:45 minuti dopo l'orario di prenotazione. Ho fatto presente la cosa anche in cassa e non mi è stato chiesto scusa, non mi è stato offerto uno sconto od un amaro, solo un misero "Eh, lo sappiamo. Questa sera è andata così".
