Il barotto — Restaurant in Turin

I recently dined at this restaurant and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the food was okay, there were several aspects of our visit that left us quite dissatisfied.

Firstly, despite having made a reservation, our table was not ready when we arrived. We were made to wait, which was not ideal, especially after a long day. To make matters worse, the table we were eventually seated at was located right in front of the restroom, which was not the most pleasant dining location.

Another issue was with the wine service. We were not provided with a wine card, and when we asked the waiter for advice on selecting a bottle, we were taken aback when he recommended what turned out to be the most expensive bottle in the place. To our surprise, we were not informed of the price beforehand, which resulted in a significant bill shock at the end of the meal.

Furthermore, the cost of our meal was quite steep for what we received. For two antipasti, a bottle of wine, and a serving of cured meat (with no coffee or dessert), we were charged nearly 50 euros per person. We found this to be absolutely overpriced, especially considering the overall experience.

In summary, while the food at this restaurant was okay, the issues with table readiness, seating, and the wine recommendation left us with a less than satisfactory dining experience. Additionally, the high cost for what we received made us feel like we didn't get good value for our money. We hope that the restaurant takes these points into consideration and improves their service...

Good selection of cheeses, cold cuts and wine. Plates are big enough to share. Our main concern was the service: we asked a wine recommendation and were suggested the most expensive wine (9 euro per glass) which is fine by itself. Mi mujer y yo cenamos allí el pasado sábado 14 de Diciembre atraídos por las recomendaciones en cuanto a que era un sitio ideal para probar productos de la región del Piamonte. Encontramos la carta bastante corta y poco variada. Las sugerencias en relación al maridaje no fueron muy esclarecedoras y al final terminamos pidiendo un Chardonnay. La comida no estaba mal. Pedimos de primero un tartar con mousse de Gorgonzola que en mi opinión estaba un poco soso y de segundo y como.plato principal la tabla de quesos y embutidos de la zona. Si bien es grande e impresiona por sus dimensiones, no cuenta con un amplio abanico de productos que puedan satisfacer a distintos paladares. Por ejemplo, los quesos eran todos blandos y echamos en falta algún queso más curado. Tuvimos.que pedir una cesta de pan para acompañar la degustación y considero que eso ya debería venir integrado.
