Alma Latina Mexican Kitchen (Gluten-free) — Restaurant in Turin

This is one of the worst Mexican restaurants I've ever been in. The food is mostly bland and generic. The service was lackluster despite us being one of the only tables being served, which should have served as a red flag. Their salsa, as well as other sauces were some of the worst I've ever had.

The meat was okay, but not seasoned properly and overcooked. The fajita was presented very poorly and they only brought 4 tortillas for a whole steak. I had the liberty to ask for more, but apparently they were extra. The sangria was about mediocre, and the state of the enchiladas was utterly terrible. They also seemed to have forgotten to add salt to their dishes. The beans also looked like the type you would get out of a can and the rice was stale which is a pretty big no no.

The food was amazing (even though there is almost no vegetarian options -1), so we wanted to give 4 stars, but at the end of the evening we were asked if we would like to try an alcoholic drink (we thought it was a small nice drink on the house). We got three enormous shot glasses of strong liquor that tasted really bad, so we only took a sip. We had to pay €7 per shot that we did not drink. They did not offer to take it off the bill, only to give us a tequila shot (if we wanted alcohol we would have drank the liquor). In the end these shots were 1/3 the price of our bill. Ridiculous. Oggi vi portiamo con noi in un ristorante Messicano, in pieno centro a Torino e precisamente nel popolare quartiere di San Salvario.

Facilmente raggiungibile in metro, fermata Marconi, abbiamo scelto di venire a provare @almalatinatorino perché propongono una cucina messicana totalmente senza glutine. E visto che la celiachia è un tema sempre più importante da gestire, ed è rilevante avere delle opzioni a menù se non un vero e proprio menù tutto senza glutine per la scelta dei propri ospiti, siamo venuti a dare un'occhiata.

Il locale ha un ampio dehor e dei tavoli situati all'interno del ristorante. Decorato di tutto punto con il tocco messicano. Noi avevamo un tavolo fronte Madonna di Guadalupe 😍 Abbiamo cominciato con degli #spritz (sia Aperol che Campari) accompagnandoli con un antipasto di Guacamole al pomodoro fresco e Guacamole al peperoncino Jalapeno (entrambe buonissime e quella Jalapeno non eccessivamente piccante). Poi abbiamo fatto seguire diversi assaggi tra quesadilla di pulled pork, tacos vari (pulled pork e bacon, brisket con guacamole e pico de Gallo, Pollo Satay con latte di cocco e burro di arachidi, Chili con carne, brisket parrilla con cipolle peperoni e salsa alla birra stout). Abbiamo anche provato una Nachos Pulled pork e Nachos Ternera (terrina calda a base di fagioli accompagnato dai classici Nachos di mais) e alla fine per non farci mancare nulla anche una Fajitas Ternera (carne tagliata a strisce e passata alla griglia accompagnata da tortillas e riso).

Abbiamo trovato tutto buonissimo e saporito, un vero salto in Messico. Abbiamo potuto apprezzare poi la cortesia e gentilezza del personale.

Torneremo sicuramente da Alma Latina per un assaggio di vera cucina messicana a Torino.
