Here is a picture of the best pizza I’ve ever had, was I skeptical at first about this famous pizza from Turino? Yes I was, I take my pizza very seriously. I ordered the classic Il Padellino pie, the crust was soft and gooey in the middle while the exterior was caramelized from the pan they cook it in and slightly burnt at the top edges. (the way good bread or pizza crust should be) The sauce was light, just there to provide a bit of moisture to the salty meat and roasted eggplant that balanced the richness of the cheese perfectly. Had a nice glass of dolcetto with it and damn was it affordable and satisfying. This place was PACKED on a Thursday around 1 pm, they gladly sat me after I made a reservation 15 minutes beforehand. Then there was some confusion about whether I ordered a glass or a 1/2l of wine. (at least one of the staff spoke English). I ended up ordering a meat-dish: this was very basic: just grilled meat (which was fine) and fried potatoes. The one dish together with the wine I ended up paying 22.80 Euro (including 2 Euro for coperto/cover). I feel this is really overrated for this single dish. I saw most people werer ordering the (deep pan) pizza, which may be a better option. I will not...
