Our friend found this restaurant online while we were wandering through the city center and we were all eager to visit, seeing the photographs, location, reviews. Yes, it was Saturday, we presumed that there will be reservations as well, yet we found it and entered to ask. The employee was talking on the phone, went downstairs, and when he returned, my wife referred to him politely, on what the man replied very rudely that he was speaking on the phone and continued the conversation, as we were not there at all. When he finished, we asked if there is something available, he just found some brief period of half an hour but we wanted to stay more, so we said thank you and we decided to leave. His gesture with the hands and answer was like he was forcing us out. Not at all hospitable. I am sorry, but those manners add negative reaction. We didn't taste the food, so this review doesn't cover that segment. The atmosphere was good, but to me the human...

I am from the USA on a business trip and was recommended to try this place by a local resident. He said it had many classic Piedmontese dishes. My experience was outstanding. The Vitello tonnato was amazing. I wish we had this dish in Italian restaurants back home. I also had the "plin" which is a type of ravioli from here. It was stuffed with smoked aubergine (eggplant), buffalo mozz, and dried tomato and drizzled with fresh pesto. Paired it with a local Barolo wine. At the end, I had baked peaches stuffed with sweet biscuit and cocoa, another local dish. It was all heaven! I don't speak Italian, but the staff was very patient with me and provided an English menu. Also.....there is a cool wine cellar underneath where you can...

Given a list of restaurants to try in Turin, I picked this one based on its funny name. Since I am an expat and I missed the local food, I ordered the tartare and the "vitello tonnato" as an entrée, to share with my partner. Both were nice, but not as spectacular as I was hoping. Then, we ordered the agnolotti and their signature tajarin with asparagus. The first were good, but the tajarin were the real deal. Finally, I picked the bonet for dessert, that did not let me down. The service was great, as was the atmosphere. I picked a glass of Barolo from Serralunga, and it went really well with the dishes. All in all, a nice spot. There are probably more typical restaurants around, but this one is still worth trying.
