Worst restaurant experience in Italy. Smelled like the bathroom the moment we walked in. We were taken to the back room and led to a table too small for our party. I asked if we could have a larger table and was told no; if u don’t have a reservation, don’t complain. There were two people in the entire room. And no one else was going to come in. We sat for about 20 minutes in that stinking place and finally decided we’d leave and place a carryout order. As soon as we got up a waitress finally came up and told us we couldn’t leave without ordering, literally blocking my way. We finally escaped and did indeed order on the app. When I went back to pick up the food the same waitress intercepted us and said they hadn’t started our food yet because I didn’t order through her. I kept telling her that I had my receipt and confirmation number and she just got more insistent. Finally she offered to start our order if I’d place it through her. I told her I’d already paid and showed her the receipt… just as I’d been trying to do the whole time. She finally gave up the ruse and handed us our food, which had been sitting there the whole time. Unbelievable. How would that even have worked? Was she claiming that she hacked the app and stopped our order from going to the kitchen? Weird.
I looked at our order and pointed out that they did not give us the water I’d paid for, so the waitress tried to give me two tiny bottles of sparkling water. Nope, ordered still water. She started crawling around on the floor looking for tiny bottles in floor cabinets. I am not exaggerating. Then suddenly another woman swoops in and starts rehashing what’s going on with our situation. They are kneeling on the ground behind the counter discussing whether we should get our food. Which we paid for. Finally I interrupt to ask whether I have to wait for this nonsense and woman number two says to me in English that she has a problem. I told her in Italian that I really didn’t care and just wanted the water I’d paid for. At which point the DB guy who’d seated us whipped out our water bottles, which were sitting right there all along. It’s just that they were normal sized, not miniature. Naturally we get back to the hotel and find that instead of getting one piece of bread for each of our five dishes, we got one piece in total. And in the least surprising part of the evening, the food was absolutely disgusting. I would not be in the least bit surprised to find out they used canned tomato sauce instead of pasta sauce. The meatballs tasted like they were served in an American high school cafeteria - the old half soy things they used to serve. The eggplant was raw. We threw the whole thing out and ordered from the hotel bar. Pretty bad when you’d rather pay for dinner twice than eat the garbage they...
Read moreLast night, I went to this restaurant with a group of friends, and unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a disappointing experience. We opted for online ordering, and things took a turn for the worse when a waiter showed up to confirm our order. Strangely, upon taking it, they added pasta and a glass of wine we hadn't requested, insisting that we had confirmed these additions. We promptly clarified that we hadn't made any such additions.
To our dismay, when the food arrived, the receipt revealed that three of the pasta dishes were completely different from what we had originally ordered. Despite our protests, the staff claimed that we had confirmed these changes and insisted we pay for the incorrect dishes. The entire ordeal left us feeling frustrated and taken advantage of.
The attitude of the staff was extremely rude, and it seemed evident that their main objective was to rush us out and close the restaurant. The quality of the pasta was, at best, average, and the overall service was subpar. Given the lackluster experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. It's unfortunate when an evening with friends is marred by such a combination of poor service and lack of...
Read moreWe chose miscusi | pasta fresca - Torino Carlina because my daughter wanted pasta and it was easy to reserve a table online from where we were in the city. Our first impression was that it might be a tourist trap, as we didn't see any locals dining there, but we were drawn in by the restaurant's interior design, especially the back area.
Unfortunately, the front of the restaurant had an unpleasant smell, which was a bit off-putting. The staff also seemed busy and not very attentive or friendly, which was unusual compared to our other experiences in Italy.
The most positive part of the experience was their self-ordering system. It was very easy to order and pay online, and the menu was clear and simple, with many of our favorite pasta options. The food also came out very quickly.
However, the pasta itself was just okay—not the best we've had in Italy. We'd say that miscusi is a good option for a quick, straightforward meal, but it's not the kind of place you would go to for a special dinner or to linger over...
