Unfortunately service is horrible. We came to the restaurant and asked for the table in English because we were tourists. First of all, they gave us menu only in Italian even if they new that we don't speak Italian. After, 20 min of waiting without any try of waiter to take the order. I came to administrator and made order by positions from Italian menu and after that he said that theyhave somewhereEnglish menu ... so... the questionis why they did not gave it to us from start when we asked in english for the menu(((. Soon we got food and started to eat. After another 20 minutes another waiter came to us and said that we have eaten somebody's else order and put on the table our two courses. After we asked for the bill, we saw that the bill is doubled. We told that our bill contains wrong positions that we do not ordered but waiter said that already nothing is posibil to do and all that she can do is to offer a free shots of drinks as an apologize. We agreed to forgive them and payed. Even after 20 min we did not received our apologize shots and wend home with much more bigger bill that we planned. We are starting to think that this is their plan to sell to tourists more than they ordered. Very sad that this happened on my birthday day dinner....
Read moreThe review is a couple of weeks late, but I wanted to take my time to write about the food and ambience, instead of writing a one-liner. We actually loved the place and the food so much that we went for the second time, even though we were in Turin for only about four days. The place was very child-friendly, as we had our 14-month-old daughter with us. We ordered the same combination of food that we had previously gone for, and the quality was just amazing again. We also had the privilege of meeting the owner of the restaurant, Enzo, who was such an amazing guy. I couldn’t help but notice that he was personally looking after all the clients to make sure everyone was happy with the food and service. All in all, it was a great experience! And yes, I would also recommend the chocolate place that Enzo suggested! I'm sure he will be pleased to give you...
Read moreThis is a very cool little place right in the centre of Turin, that offers typical fish and street food of Liguria. A shortlist (but not too short) fish-based menu expressly cooked with passion and flavor by the 3 hyperactive cooks, in plain sight.
I have to say Sciamadda is a surprise in a city where eating good fish is not common, and usually not very affordable. But if you're walking in the area my advice is: discard the touristic spots, forget the overhyped baked potato in the overcrowded nearby place and head for the small joint where people may be eating on stools, but the fish is fresh and tasty, the ambience warm, and the maitre very eager to please.
Nice white ligurian wines too, don't let the apparent cheapness of the service (plastic glasses and all) mislead you: if you enjoy fish this is a...
