The food is great. The pizza was amazing, especially the crust, light and puffy with a high temp burn to spots in the outer crust and the part under the ingredients was as thin as possible and slightly sourdough in flavor—my ideal type of dough/crust. The basil and tomatoes were delicious and fresh, they used regular mozzarella as the cheese on a margherita pizza instead of burrata cheese (even so, it still rocked). The pizza would get a 5 from me if only for the cheese switch knocking it down to a 4.8.
My wife’s spaghetti was not a dente but undercooked and hard in the core (packaged pasta, not homemade). She said that sauce and the tomatoes were delicious though, and the pasta became almost a dente by the end of the meal. Spaghetti gets a 4.
Latte was tasty but only one shot and too much milk so I added an espresso shot and it was great. Latte gets a 3.8.
The staff were curious enough and not rude but generally seemed apathetic (as if hung over or tired of something). Solid 4.
The manager was courteous and helpful to us but terse, and to the staff he was often quickly angry and looked at them with derision when they might make a small mistake. This may have been the reason for the staff’s tired behavior. It did detract from the atmosphere. 3.5.
