My visit to Soul Kitchen in Turin was an unforgettable experience that completely redefined my perception of vegan dining. Opting for the 9-course tasting menu, I embarked on a culinary journey that showcased the restaurant’s exceptional creativity and dedication to plant-based cuisine. While there were certain flavors I personally didn’t enjoy—something that speaks more to my own preferences than the skill of the chefs—it did not detract from the overall experience, which was nothing short of amazing. In fact, some of the dishes were so exquisite they almost brought me to tears—a testament to the artistry and emotional impact of their cooking.
The menu was a masterpiece of innovation, with dishes that brought together bold flavors and textures in ways I’d never imagined. A standout for me was their plant-based take on a classic Italian dish, which was not only delicious but beautifully plated—a true feast for both the eyes and the palate. The signature dessert was an absolute showstopper, and their creative cocktails perfectly complemented the meal, adding another layer of indulgence to an already extraordinary dining experience.
The restaurant’s atmosphere was equally impressive, blending a cozy warmth with modern elegance. Every detail, from the stylish interiors to the carefully chosen table settings, contributed to a sense of refinement without losing its welcoming charm. Adding to this was the incredible staff, who exuded passion and knowledge about the dishes and the philosophy behind them. They made me feel like more than just a guest—they made me feel part of a mission.
Soul Kitchen’s dedication to sustainability and ethical eating left a lasting impact on me. Their commitment to using fresh, local ingredients and supporting eco-friendly practices was evident in every bite and every interaction. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a statement about the power of conscious choices, which resonated deeply with my own values.
The sense of community within the restaurant was palpable, creating a space where like-minded individuals could come together and celebrate plant-based living. Whether it was sharing recommendations with other diners or chatting with the staff about their inspirations, I felt connected to something bigger than myself.
This time, I visited solo, but I am already looking forward to returning with my family to share this incredible experience with them. For anyone in Turin, vegan or not, I cannot recommend Soul Kitchen highly enough. In fact, I will be personally recommending this restaurant to the Michelin Guide for consideration. Its exceptional blend of culinary innovation, sustainability, and community spirit deserves recognition on a global stage.
Soul Kitchen is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a philosophy, and a community all...
Read moreTLDR: Most of the dishes were too fussy and mushy. A couple were great. A couple were genuinely disgusting. I hate to give a vegan restaurant under 4 stars but this was one of the worst fine dining experiences we have had flavor wise.
Atmosphere: Dark and romantic. The main dining hall is clean and modern, but the bathrooms needed cleaned and renovated. For a place that charges so much, the soap dispenser was broken and fell off the wall and things were run down.
Service: They were nice, but I felt like they were annoyed by us. Even though we were dressed well, quiet, and polite the entire time. After 3 dishes of us clearly not liking the food, when the fourth course came and it was actually good, one of the servers said, "Oh, thank God." Interesting for sure.
Food: Ups and downs like crazy. I've been to fine dining where the flavors just weren't for me or the style was inconsistent. However, here... almost every dish was a cream, mush, mousse, or foam. If I was 95 and had no teeth, I could have eaten most of the dishes with a spoon and not worried about choking. I know Michelin style restaurants like to cream and mousse things, but you have to have some crunch or something in it to balance. I don't know if this was just a bad menu or what but everything was sweet and creamy with no other flavors. By far, the worst dish was the cold seaweed soup that we could not eat more than one bite.
Chef, if you're reading this please go back to real food. We have been to dozens of Michelin restaurants and the best food is always found in simplicity. For example, the main dish we were served had a mousse carrot in the shape of a carrot. It was overly sweet and with no chewability. I felt like I was in hospice care waiting for them to end it. Please just grill a delicious carrot...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve had in over 20 years in fine vegan dining around the world.
Firstly, I make a reservation at 22:00, which is an option on their website, then we get there and are told they close soon ( website says they close at 23:30 ), we can’t have the taster menus and they aren’t sure what we can have, one waitress was nice, welcoming and helpful the other was just blunt and mean, for something that is their fault.
Who honestly wants to have an expensive meal after you’ve rudely been told your meal will be rushed and you won’t be able to have what you want?
Waitress said the website shouldn’t have given us 22:00 as a booking option, then why was it there and why did no one see this in the restaurant before hand? All around a lazy and inattentive service.
As we couldn’t have what we want and were told we would be a burden on the staff for coming at the time we were allowed to book, we had to leave and there was no where else to eat at that time, so thanks for a ruined Saturday night.
Also, for a premium restaurant maybe you should have a clean table made and not one with red stains, seen in the picture.
There were also plenty of tables that had not been cleaned and so the atmosphere felt messy, again, not a good job for such an existence place.
We will try one of the other vegan options in Turin and hopefully they are significantly better.
