People who come on vacation are not in the mood for waiters’ remarks. We waited patiently for someone to come and ask if we wanted a table… the waiter was inside taking pictures of some guests. Eventually, we sat down at a table temporarily — I should mention that only one outdoor table was occupied, the rest were free.

The waiter came and gave us a lecture, saying we should have waited. He moved us to the table next to it, saying the one we had sat at was reserved… and added that there’s a chance the chef might not even allow us to stay because we dared to sit without their permission.

We wouldn’t have had any issue with this if, five minutes later, other people who arrived without a reservation hadn’t been seated at the exact same table we had initially taken.

For your information, if you want to be a top restaurant, first of all, have someone available to greet customers — a hostess, for example. Second, customers don’t need lectures or scolding. And last but not least, the food and drinks need to be perfect…...

I had a really great meal at this restaurant. 🔥 Fish restaurant as it should be. We arrived exactly at 7, when they open, I recommend coming a little later, maybe half an hour, you won’t be waiting for the meal so long. 😊 As for antipasti, I ordered white fish and beetroot, really great! The fish was crispy on the top and buttery on the inside. From the primi menu I had the gnocchi with prawns. Great taste. For dessert I chose the homemade tiramisu. I like tiramisu a lot, so I enjoyed it! It was a bit runny, but I didn't mind it significantly.

The environment was clean, the service was friendly, they understood English. There was just a little problem with payment, we waited for more than...

Such an amazing restaurant! We made a reservation online as we were staying at a nearby hotel, and every time we walked past, it was busy which is always a good sign. Now I can see why! The atmosphere was welcoming and lively, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour.

We had a wonderful dining experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend Osteria del Pesce to anyone visiting or living in Viareggio. It’s well worth a visit if you’re looking for authentic cuisine and...
