I recently had the opportunity to visit the restaurant "E Lucevan le Stelle," and my experience was far from satisfactory. While I cannot judge their entire menu, I want to share my thoughts on the tiramisu, which was a complete letdown.
After ordering a tiramisu to share for dessert, we were expecting to indulge in a delightful Italian creation. However, our anticipation was met with an unpleasant surprise. The tiramisu was served to us as a kit, with separate biscuits, a minuscule pot of cream, and even a cup of coffee on the side. The presentation resembled more of a DIY project than a carefully crafted dessert.
What's ironic is that the restaurant prominently displays Italian rules outside its establishment, such as the prohibition of drinking Spritz after a meal or having cappuccino past a certain hour, as well as avoiding ice cubes in wine. However, these rules seem negligible when considering their surprising approach to the tiramisu, an iconic Italian specialty.
My overall impression was that of assembling my own dessert, as if I were at IKEA, rather than savoring an authentic tiramisu. Not only was this experience disappointing on a culinary level, but it also overshadowed the rules they proudly showcase.
Regrettably, I cannot recommend the tiramisu at "E Lucevan le Stelle." My review is specifically based on this experience, and I did not have the opportunity to taste other items from their menu. If you're seeking an authentic Italian culinary experience, I suggest...
Read moreMy husband found this little gem and we brought our 2 year old toddler here for dinner twice. We loved each meal and both ordered the “Stelle” salad each time. The pasta dishes were FANTASTIC (we tried the pici ragu, ravioli, casoncello, and tortelloni) and the wine selection was top notch. They were very accommodating and even made our toddler his favorite dish (cacio e pepe, senza pepe). We would keep coming back here if we had more time to keep trying the rest of the menu. At any point during the meal and especially afterward, I can always take our toddler into the courtyard to play, walk, and enjoy the...
Read moreWe spent two weeks traveling Tuscany and this was the best restaurant that we stumbled upon. The views were gorgeous and the food was excellent. We had the pecorino platter and the selection was varied and very tasty. The pasta was delicious and prices were very affordable. We came later in the day and the atmosphere of a lamplit dinner with others chatting and eating made the night special. Five of us had food and drinks for less than €100. The wine selection was extensive and catered to any and all taste buds. We finished of dinner with the tiramisu which I highly recommend to...
