This was the worst experience I've ever had in Venice; this was my third experience in the city. The service was poor, the quality of the food was poor, and they tried to cheat us. We ordered grilled vegetables but we had to ask for them because they forgot to bring them to the table. When they did bring them they were eight small pieces for 8 euros: 1 euro per little round of zicchini and 1 euro per 1/8 of pepper. My husband ordered chicken cutlet that came with potatoes, but they didn't have chicken, so they gave us pork and then they tried to charge us extra for the potatoes. I ordered black gnocchi and the server said there would be a serving of fish in the sauce, but he brought me a tiny portion of white gnocchi, with hardly any fish in it. When I pointed out that I had ordered black gnocchi, the server tried to tell me that I got confused and that they had no black gnocchi. I pointed out that it was on the menu in English and in Italian and that I was paying for something I did not get. Only after a protracted argument the server called the owner who agreed to discount the price of the white gnocchi. When I informed him that in Canada the customer does not pay for an order changed or not received, the server replied that in Canada the restaurants have other sources of income, which is NOT true, nor does it justify an attempt to cheat the customer/tourist. It is a restaurant of "imbroglioni". I definitely do NOT recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ate here with my mum and husband during a day trip to Venice. Unfortunately, there were a number of things that led to the low review. The first being the pasta itself, which for two of us was overly salty, though my mum enjoyed her shrimp pasta to a degree. The 'bottled' water for the table that they charge ā¬3.50 for is actually a bottle refilled with tap water, which is why the server will always open the bottle in front of you before placing it on the table, as its not newly opened. However, the main reason for the review is we were given a basket of mouldy bread, which had clearly been repurposed from previous customers. The waiter tentatively apologised for this when we made them aware, and in my request for some compensation brought out three shots alcohol, without any checking whether this would be adequate compensation before then presenting us with the full bill. As such, I would caution anyone eating here. There are plenty of eateries to choose from, many over priced because it's Venice, but hopefully with better food and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place was not what I expected! When we ordered our food we only asked for first dishes as we only wanted a small meal and the dishes seemed to be reasonable and nice. When we ordered this, the waiter or I suppose the owner shook his head when he realised we only ordered these dishes. Along with our meal we asked for 1/2l of red house wine....to which almost immediately we received WHITE wine. He obviously decided white wine goes better with our meal. Not happy as we wanted red wine. Very quick service, felt rushed and not welcomed. When we asked for the bill the owner said and I quote "ah yes, the BIG BILL". I thought this was very rude, he was clearly not very happy that we ordered so little, nevertheless the bill was expensive anyway!! In comparison to some other local restaurants in Venice ( I would reccomend: PizzerĆa Antico Panificio) where we were able to get a much larger meal for less than the price we paid for a little meal , wine at this restaurant. I...
